One would think a person with those capabilities would certainly be able to run 200+ balls at least more than once in a week of trying, but by his own demonstration and inability to put racks together is proof in itself he don't posses the knowledge, NOT THE SKILLS, but the skills at reading the patterns in the racks to have made that 480 run.
Justin is a good guy..just a bit goofy sometimes. After reading most of the 996 replies in this thread I've come
to the conclusion that Justin has more fans than 'realkingcobra'.
Nice.SSOP analyzed one of Earl's racks:
This is exactly what someone with a developmental disability would say.I've been playing pool, and working in the billiards industry in combination for over 50 years,
I think Earl's shot on the 1 ball was a serious mistake. The cue ball should have landed on the 7 rather than under it.SSOP analyzed one of Earl's racks:

I agree. I've known a couple guys like what he seems to be in my 68 years.Justin is a good guy..just a bit goofy sometimes.
In my time here interacting with him he has never really gone off the rails and taken over threads. He certainly does not have a history of being malicious and insulting to anyone who does not agree with him. He would never come shit all over other peoples efforts like we have seen here.

Reyes has a 400+ run,
Reyes has a 400? Where did you hear that from? I never heard of him even having a 200.
Fair enough. Although I’d almost bet the only times Efren played or practiced straight pool in his life was in an actual straight pool tournament once every 10 years.just read it somewhere. Story went like this:
Reporter:
- Mr Reyes, what is your high run in straight pool
Reyes:
- something like 35-36
Reporter
- this doesn't sound like much
Reyes:
- ... racks
Edit: (Could be just some strory going around on some forums in Europe)
one such forum (should be possible to understand with google translator)
A thought:that was a nice rack, aside from the breakout of the cluster that could have gone awry. i liked watching earl giving this a try. i never thought he would get to 300 but it was still impressive and entertaining to watch. his behavior was fairly good too.
his high run in 15 Ball Rotation is 5 racks. He put some 100+ runs at Maine Event 1995 never playing the game before the event. I think he fell in love with this game. He played most of the 14.1 world tournaments losing in the finals to John Schmidt once. I think he did practice some straight pool in his life. Even if he dedicated just 5 % of practice time to straight pool between 1995 and 2015 that would be one year full time.Fair enough. Although I’d almost bet the only times Efren played or practiced straight pool in his life was in an actual straight pool tournament once every 10 years.
Like avoiding answering the question about what you do for a living, you mean that? This is exactly what someone with a developmental disability would say.
Perfectionist??I agree. I've known a couple guys like what he seems to be in my 68 years.
No, the million is Johns pay to entertain you of course, that's what you're asking John to do right, entertain you by running 626 balls so then you have your PROOF that he did on fact already run that many, you just don't believe he did, so you want proof!!!how exactly is this a fair bet to risk a million to win ... nothing?
I think there will be enough people putting up a million that John Schmidt won't get 526 in a week. Do you put up a million to pay them if they are right?

So, I'm sure if the entertainment fee was a million dollars, I think John would consider being a high paid MONKEY and dance around the table for your pleasure! Just consider the million dollars as bananas, but they're $1.00 bills in real life.
Why else would John even consider entertaining you for free? Who the hell are YOU?
But Johns the inspiration for this pursuit to find someone to break his record, so why not PAY John to entertain everyone and see if he can be the one to break his OWN 626 record m, otherwise, what's in it for John to feel like he has to prove anything to anyone???Nobody kidnapped and brought the players here against their will for entertainment without any compensation. People are willing to spend money and time (which through advertisement translates again to money) to watch some pool legends perform and excel in their sports. And some players are such big legends, that people are gladly willing to spend their time watching them perform, even knowing that the players are probably not on top of their game.
I think this is the idea behind professional sport and how someone like Strickland is able to live from his profession.
It is theoretically possible that John Schmidt would only be willing to participate in this event, if the prize money was one million, but I highly doubt it. (Think something in the range of 20,000 – 50,000 for a 500+ run would be more than enough.)
Just because pool doesn’t attract that many viewers and there is not as much money in this sport as in basketball. And the reason there are so many fans at all are players like Strickland and Reyes and Bustamante and Pagulayan.
And I don’t need proof that John Schmidt ran 626. I saw him run multiple 400+ and I know, he can run 626. I am interested in seeing what he does, to be able to run 400+ every other week and these videos are available for free. But money is not really an issue here. I would gladly pay any fair price to see the actual run, same way I paid for instructional DVDs or Accu-Stats tapes or travelled to Derby City to watch these players live.
