Dennis Orcullo banned from USA for five years

Do we have anything to say his 5 year ban wasn't for gambling activities?

Sure think government knowledge of that would lead to revoking privileges. They might not even explain why.
And why did they wait for him to come back then send him home right away?
Logic tells me the time stamps on his passport showed he overstayed at least once.
Stop the speculations already.

Thank you for this reply. Once upon a time (a better time I may add) when Americans were welcome most everywhere, I had the good fortune to travel around our planet from the West to the East (Los Angeles west across the Pacific through Asia and Europe and back to New York and L.A.). I was on the road by myself for 85 days and it was an eye opening experience, both enligtening and inspirational. I discovered that world over people were basically the same. They all wanted to love and be loved, and they wanted to feel productive in their lives. People invited me into their homes most everywhere I went and welcomed me to join them and their families in whatever they were doing. To this day it was the most wonderful experience of my life. I told myself I would do it again every ten years, but so far I have never made a trip like that again. I still love to travel and meet people though. You can learn something from everybody!

Racism must be taught. It is not inherent in small children. That much I know.
Sounds like a great trip!

I agree, that racism is mostly from one's environment/teaching. However, there is some interesting research that reveals evidence of in-group biases early on in life.

This is an interesting video detailing such research at Yale

It might be that Dennis didn’t overstay but that he never went back home long enough...
...sometimes he only went back for two weeks.

Read some WW2 history. Some UGLY shit went down. China, Korea, Indochina('Nam now) were all basically slave labor for the Japanese. They have long memories. Look up 'Unit 731, Harbin China'. Japan's chem/biol. warfare research center. True horrors. Even worse is the US gave a lot of the scientists there immunity to gain info during Cold War. Some sick shit.
My wife is from the Philippines. If I told you the stories her Mom and Dad told about the Japanese army it would make you sick. Pure evil.

In a round-a-bout way he is saying he overstayed. With a B1/B2 you can only stay for 180 days at a time. The P-1 athlete Visa is different. You can stay for five yrs at a time and file an extension for up to ten yrs. Some of the regs for a P-1: https://www.eahimmigration.com/prac...rs/p-1-visa-artists-athletes-and-entertainers

Apparently, there are special visas available for exceptional people...musicians, techies etc.
Pool players can get them but Superman might be the only Pinoy who has one.
Some good men are going to bat for Dennis,,,Roy Ariel of Roy’s Basement, Buff and Joe Long of NOLA.
The Fillers are applying for a couple.
I think Dennis has a chance.

I wonder if anyone look here???

Second Visa violation.👎

He's gonna need a good immig. lawyer and some luck. If his Visa was cancelled getting a new P-1 may be a tough sell. Could be looking at a long wait to get a new one.

Racism is a action it's not a bias. For instance enslaving a person is a action. People (all people of all colors) dislike people and groups of people (a bias. Human nature). Often they dislike groups of people or just individuals within their own race. And sometimes they dislike a persion or group of people of another race. this is human and doesn't become racism until a act such as enslaving a person is done. As well not all acts of disrespect make it to the racism label. Not all disrespect is racism. Enslaving a person is in fact racism. Racism is extreme.

True- that is an important clarification.

There is a strong tendency towards in group biases of various sorts- not just based on race, whether it be ethnicity, religion, or even sports team allegiances.

Americans are still welcome everywhere. Some Americans, much like some of my fellow Brits and some others manage to rub locals up the wrong way wherever they go. That's unfortunately a by product of American exceptionalism, British elitism and similar brain dead mindsets from other entitled nations where the media builds an "us and them as two separate universes" wall around us. While a mildy annoying "local" might want to engage us in a one dimensional chat about politics or an innane conversation about who is the best NBA or EPL player, 99% of people just want to get to know us regardless of where we are from.

Just read that Dennis was sent home by US customs and received a five-year travel ban to the US for a visa infraction on his last visit. Sad news.
Too bad. Guy can shoot for sure. I will say as a kid my dad worked in various countries overseas that required Visa's. I got to travel to a couple of the safer ones. One thing he tought me is never go anywhere without your papers period.

This visa exception is news to me but why is it news to Dennis?
