New Table

Added a new toy in our office just outside my office. We wanted something cheap and portable in case we are ordered to get rid of it. We sorta didn't ask for anyone 's permission. If nobody objects we'll upgrade but for now we have this $50 beauty. It actually plays pretty tough due to slow cloth, smallish pockets and completely unpredictable rails.

Fantastic!
My company "wellness champion" recently bought a Wii to hook up to the TV in our conference room. She feels that people will use it to do exercises in their free time.
I'd MUCH rather have your table than the Wii. I know that I'd be using it, and I don't see myself using the Wii probably ever.

We have an 8' table in our breakroom also. It's a typical cheap home table, crappy cloth, crappy rails, etc. I was actually getting back into pool when I started this job and played on it quite a bit in the beginning but then I got tired of the unpredictable rails and I rarely touch it anymore.

I'd think such a table would be a good choice for a first table for most anyone who isn't yet addicted to the game.

It would allow you to figure out if the room is really good for a table, give your spouse a chance to get used to it, etc., without breaking the bank.

Plus, if it isn't good for the room, it's easy to move or donate, or throw in the river.

I have been Jonesing for one of those Olhausen Bantam tables. Definitely not $50 though. If we go back to the office though I would consider it with the stealth table top.

Any pool is better than no pool. Those cues are gonna warp leaning like that though.

You have a lot of space in that room. Get a Gold Crown in there.
Add some seating, a few high top tables and a Bose.
One step at a time..it's an office after all. If nobody tells us to get rid of it we'll probably sneak a valley bar box in to replace it in a few weeks. I have a 9 ft Gold Crown at home so it will be a nice option.

Ha, a memory just popped into my head. At one of my first jobs, I was talking about pool with a co-worker and my supervisor overheard. He joined the conversation and proceeded to tell us what a good pool player he was. We lived in a small town with only two pool rooms and I never seen him in either. He was jawing quite a bit so we set up a game that evening. I beat him out of $70-80 pretty quickly and easily. When I arrived at work the next day, I was informed there wasn't anymore work for me there. It was OK...crap job anyway :)
