Here is another perspective...
I wont pay $30 for a tip.
Why would I pay $30 for one cube of chalk?
There are many here that use cheap Elkmasters or Triangles, and admonish others about using expensive layered tips. And how they are wasting their money. That's how I feel about chalk.
I make that statement out of ignorance (ignorance about Toam) but that's how I feel about it.
The Tiger Onyx is/was a good tip, but when they doubled the price overnight (M.A.P. pricing), I told them to take a flying friggin leap.
And we all know this "luxury" chalk is price fixed. There is no damn way they could possibly have that much money into making a cube of chalk. Even if it cost them $1 per cube for materials and manufacturing, and that's probably high, that represents a 3000% mark up. But if pool players pay for it, more power to them. We all have choices. I choose no.
I think the same way about Predator Chalk and Kamui chalk(tried the Kamui in the local I mentioned in a previous post). I have tried both and noticed absolutely no reason to buy into the hype.
If I get the chance to try Toam (or others), I will try it. But it would have to give blow jobs if I'm paying out THAT much. At least the Toam wont leave my penis blue!
