Fedor vs Alex money match starts tonight. Who do you guys like ?

It seems quite amazing to me that a planned major publicized matchup like this would not clarify racking rules and stipulations before the start of the first session. I can only assume it was not to Alex‘s liking, based on the 15–25 first session deficit? So did they throw out that entire session like it never happened?

Fedor was not happy with the way the table was racking today and couldn't get balls to freeze correctly.
Finally they agreed to pro rate and start a new race to 50 using a template.

IIRC DO beat SVB last two times they played.(120-119 and 120-115 at Bill's) Don't remember Sky beating him. Sky is the dog playing everything but maybe banks. They are the only two US players with any chance against the Euro/Asian/Filipino top guys. And not a really good chance at that.
I thought I remembered a horse humping from this fall something like Shane beat him by 60 racks...and sky beating him this spring in a long race as well...could be wrong

also, Billy, Styer, Eberle, Josh Roberts, Reinhold, T-Rex...all have wins over international players, as I mentioned, Wolford took down Biado, and Wolford is a part time player I hear. I agree with you that they would be 'dogs, but to say they have no chance, I disagree with.
The difference is most of those guys have already peaked and will be struggling to maintain their top speed from here on out. Filler and Gorst are just kids who are probably going to get even better (scary thought for everyone else). In short, the gap is likely to get bigger and bigger.

I agree. but then again you never know what life brings. Kids, Mortgages, other interests...doesn't take much for someone who is unbeatable to string together some mediocre years...happened to Shaw a few years ago.

Shane tortured Sky this last year on the barbox. Never heard of SVB beatin DO by any 60 games doing anything. I know DO beat Sky 100-77 on a big table in 2020. Only place Sky has a realistic shot is on the barbox. Sky beat DO 150-145 on the bb in April last year in Dallas.

Bar box, correct? I don't put much stock in top pros playing in the kiddie pool. Granted SVB won but that game is a breaking contest more than anything else. Barbox pool is THE biggest reason that US pool lags so far behind other countries. Go to Europe/Asia and try to find one. MIGHT find one in a bar/tavern but go to any poolroom and its ALL 9fts. Only place that plays on little table is that English 8b on what is basically a 3x6 snooker table.

3 X 6 Snooker table Wow!....you made think of the first time I ever saw a ''cracker box''.
There was one in the Showbar at Jansco's.
3'x6' bar box with a heavy cue ball.
Never even knew they made em that size, 60's.

Its British 8b or 'blackball' as some call it. Its where Jayson Shaw, Melling and Appleton started out. Balls are tiny, smaller than snooker balls. there's a bunch on Youtube. They play strong.

Dennis won the last two 9 ball matches on the big track. The last time SVB and Dennis played 10 ball on the big track, SVB won by almost 40 games. As far as the bar box goes, I don't anyone in the world wants SVB action on that thing.

An obscure American, Shane Wolford, made a deep run through the DCC field taking a few big scalps along the way. Relatively unknow Christopher Tevez claimed a victory over Carlo Biado. Josh Roberts and even T-Rex continue to improve their rotation games. Max Eberle played really well, I thought.

US has players with potential, I just wish they could all play well at the same time on the international stage.
Tevez is from and lives in Peru. He plays good. He randomly came through Nashville last year looking to match up. Only guy that played him was a 690 Fargo and Tevez gave him I think the 6 or 7 out playing ten ball and it wasn’t even close.

Thanks for the info. Fargo rate has him listed from Lima, TX. LOL How do you think he would do against Hennessee?

Went back and found stats on that 10b match. Deciding factor was the break all the way. Games won, balls made, run-outs were all big in Shane's favor. SVB's 10b break is just brutal.

That's crazy strong.

oh absolutely... but it's part of the complete game. Maybe one day these new participation rules will allow for neutral breaker.. :/
I'm being cruddy here, I know, but, it's just crap when someone comes along and perfects something that changes the mindset of the game and then what happens, promote more practice, discipline,... no way, let's change the rules and promote lazy! VOMIT!

What about when Corey Deuel perfected the soft break and the rules were changed?

There is no such thing as a European Youth Program. Federations are responsible for their national youth players. But all countries do have youth championships and they are willing to train and look for proper information. And some of them have government support.
That sounds like a youth program to me.

Not really at all. Having a youth championship doesn't mean you have a "youth program". Also, people don't like hearing their bubbles being burst of their misperception on all European governments support of players. But it keeps getting repeated over and over so it must be true.

Alex off to good start.
