Felt Billiards Colorado

And there's less gravity the higher you are (that might only apply to elevation).

Higher altitude less gravity, of course! Silly me for forgetting that. Actually I do weigh 10 pounds less in Denver.

When I summited Mount Everest I lost 55 pounds as weight loss and gravity are a linear function of each other. Don’t we all know that?

I made it a point to stop by Felt the last time I was in Denver. Certainly one of the best rooms I’ve been to. Place was packed and I had to wait a bit to get a table, but it worth it.

I also thought Gerard’s Pool Hall was very nice. Loved the ambience, but it was very expensive. $15/hr for a table on a Saturday afternoon, IIRC.

Sadly Gerard took his life.

Shoot, I thought time stands still. Or my automatic watch, that relies on gravity, quit working.
No you have it backwards.

Dig a deep enough hole and time stands still

Best,
Fatboy<———-another profound thought….

PS: of course I’m just joking. I been busting balls all day. I’m be more serious tmr🤡🤠

About all I remember about the Colfax Billiard Hall was how fast the cloth was and how I was shooting like a fish out of water ha ha

I also remember there were two fella's playing bank the 9 , 9 ball on the snooker table for some serious money and neither of them missed very often a very big eye opening experience for this kid from Montana ha ha .

I heard an awful rumor today that Colfax Billiards closed and had to move to another location and changed their name , is there still a Denver open pool tournament ????

Back in the day Colfax billards got sold and the guy who sold it opened another place called Colfax Billards on Tennyson. Now the new owner kept the name Colfax Billards and his name was Lief Jensen... I dont know whatever happened to him cause I've been out of the loop for 15years. But i was talking to a employee at Best Quality billards the other day and he told me Colfax Billards shut down because it got really bad in there. I'm assuming drugs and unsavory characters. It was a little shady when i use to frequent it 15 years ago... so i can only imagine.

Thanks Sandbagger for the update I was thinking it could've been something along those lines .
I heard stories about Colfax St in general and how even the police weren't going into that area often after dark .
Even way back when I was down there the guy behind the counter suggested we walk straight to the car get in and leave , I didn't argue and that's what we did and I've not returned to Denver since.
If nothing else I've missed the 4 1/2 x 9 tables it's a very long drive for me now to get to play or even practice on one now .

I spent a month in Denver for work last year and saw Felt pop up on here for places to play out there. I went there the first night in town and every single night while I was there. Truly a great pool hall with a variety of 7 and 9 foot Diamonds and several Gold Crowns. Everyone was so nice there, the food and drinks were great, and there were tournaments all the time. I can't wait to go back.

Higher altitude less gravity,...
That's true. Newton showed us that.

And this allows us to calculate your weight which comes out to 22,000 pounds, roughly, or 1571 stones for the British. Diet and exercise. (y)

Some people claim weighing 22,000 pounds or 10,000kgs is not healthy and uncomfortable are just wrong. I love weighing this much, and the share holders of McDonald’s love me!

You know what delighted me when I went to the UK.
I had no problem dealing with stones….from playing straight pool. :)

Shakesperes had carom tables back in the day...I remember Colfax Billiards too...and Table Steaks...24 hours of fun time. been a long time that I have been in Denver. Have to check out Felt next time I swing by.

Excuse me, did you say you summited Mt. Everest? First I ever heard that from you. That is no mean feat.

I think Frank Burgess owned Colfax Billiards back in the day. I went there in 1985 (I believe) to play in a $25,000 guaranteed tournament. Sigel lost his first match and won eleven in a row to win the tournament and the 5K first prize. I lost my second match and got to play Mike on the losers side. It was ugly, something like 11-3 or 4. It was held in December and there was a huge snow storm. So bad that it was hard to navigate the roads. I was staying with my buddy Tim Thompson (a good player himself) and he had this big truck with even bigger wheels and tires, and was able to take me back and forth to the poolroom.

I remember sitting next to Robert Wagner at the Denver airport and he was watching a pro football game on a little 7" TV he held in his hand. I marveled at this device and he let me hold it. He was a pretty nice guy and married at the time to my big crush, Natalie Wood. That relationship ended bad! :cautious:
