I lied, lol I never summited anything ever. You caught me, I knew I was gonna get called out on thatExcuse me, did you say you summited Mt. Everest? First I ever heard that from you. That is no mean feat.
I think Frank Burgess owned Colfax Billiards back in the day. I went there in 1985 (I believe) to play in a $25,000 guaranteed tournament. Sigel lost his first match and won eleven in a row to win the tournament and the 5K first prize. I lost my second match and got to play Mike on the losers side. It was ugly, something like 11-3 or 4. It was held in December and there was a huge snow storm. So bad that it was hard to navigate the roads. I was staying with my buddy Tim Thompson (a good player himself) and he had this big truck with even bigger wheels and tires, and was able to take me back and forth to the poolroom.
I remember sitting next to Robert Wagner at the Denver airport and he was watching a pro football game on a little 7" TV he held in his hand. I marveled at this device and he let me hold it. He was a pretty nice guy and married at the time to my big crush, Natalie Wood. That relationship ended bad!![]()

I’ve watched every documentary possible on Everest on TV YouTube etc I could find over the past 20 years. I’d have been able to have made the trek to base camp fro where ever that starts in the late 90’s or early 2000’s before my back got bad. I’ve never had the level of fitness to ever attempt any summit. Maybe Fuji in Japan back then. But I never tried.
Welcome back Jay, I’ll call you later this week, I’ll be in your area in a week.
Hope NYC was good, missed you here, there’s a few good threads for you to read.
Best
Fatboy

PS: I can’t ever get anything past Jay, he knows me all too well. I’m proud to be his friend!
