Taom Chalk

I'm at the bottom of my first piece of Pyro after 9 months. Ive noticed it's lost some of it's magic qualities--it leaves marks on the cue ball now and occasionally generates dust specs when chalking. I have a new piece of V10 and a newer peice of Pyro that still work like magic. As time goes on it will be interesting if there are other reports of limited longevity.

Will probably pick one up to try once they are back in stock at Seyberts. I really do like my Taom Pyro though!

Just picked up a piece of Pyro chalk. Should I be chalking less than I do with a piece of conventional chalk? It seems like I can get away with it. How many shots do you go between chalking?

i chalk normally only after 4 or 5 shots. except after or before a hard draw shot or extreme english one.

for normal shots no need to chalk every shot.

i can throw out 15 balls on the table and run them all off without chalking but once before i start.

never happened to me
You must do all the racking. Or not there but for a couple of games. Either way, it's cool, it's not for you. Some people love it and I ordered a roll of each to see how it goes, felt like being silly and crazy! Lol

I have a home table and i still have no idea why people are getting them so dirty playing with master ... i dont have that issue
This is a relative issue. Put differently, the question of getting your table "dirty" vs keeping it cleaner are not necessarily the same issue.

That is, if you assume the "dirtiness" of master is the baseline amount of "dirty," then I think there is no legitimate counterpoint to the fact that Taom keeps it cleaner.

I still learning to get the hang of the V-10, but it sure help draw, and spin. Find I have not figured out how much I need to adjust for the new found power.

What could be the cause? Obviously the formula isn't different at the bottom of the chalk cube than it was at the top.

Could it be something different about the weather/air the last few days like rainy/high humidity, or a big temperature difference in the room the table is in, etc?

This is in your head. There are some chalks that miscue a little easier than others when you start pushing the miscue limit, but for shots that were not miscues, and where you are using all the exact same equipment, then with the exact same hit to the exact same place on the cue ball you are going to get the same amount of spin regardless of what chalk you are using.
