I think you are seeing the hatred directed at the Russian government.... not the people themselves. There are thousands of Russian people being arrested just for protesting the invasion of Ukraine. They knew they would be arrested yet they did it anyway. I respect that. And so does the rest of the world. If you can come up with a better way then sanctions to punish the Russian government without affecting the people, I'm all ears.

I remember in the past some foriegn athletes defected to the U.S. and other countries. I don't know their personal situation, but seems like an option. We could use some help on the MC team. Seriously I hope things work out for them.

Please. When in history have the citizens of countries waging war and engaging in unprovoked attacks not borne some of the negative consequences of such aggression? There's nothing really new here.
The economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and countless other countries have reduced the value of the ruble dramatically, inflicting further and intentional financial torture on anyone having assets denominated in that currency. Is that fair or are these countries engaging in such sanctioning just as unspeakable.
There are no absolutes here. This mess and its consequences, in which many have a part, is harming countless innocent people. The nations of the world have yet to devise a method of dissuading or punishing acts of major aggression without harming innocent people in the process.
We all understand that Russia's actions were not directed by the likes of Kristina, Ruslan and Fedor, but sadly, and as you note unfairly, they will bear some of the consequences of the actions of their government.
In short, the saying "all's fair in love and war" is not quite accurate.
