Diamond table help looking for who is the best to level and figure this out! I have a nine foot pro am. It was installed new by Diamond in 2020. Diamond are the only people who have touched it. I recently got the cloth replaced by Diamond and it has never rolled straight since… Diamond rep came out today and we’re unsuccessful to properly level. They even took a leg off and had a jack and tried for several hours… Finally the two guys recommendations was to check slate and completely tear it apart. Suspect a possible warranty issue? They said to call Diamond again tomorrow and have somebody else come out to tear it apart and I paid $250 service call already. Three piece slate is what they installed because it is upstairs. I am willing to pay anybody who can take this apart and level it! I want the best slate whisper for diamond tables and don’t care how far. So who is that person that knows the most and how do I contact them! Any help appreciated. I need this table leveled by the time I come back from tour stops in month of April!
I live in Texas not far from Austin and San Antonio in Spring Branch area. Note: The upstairs is solid and very heavy tile and cement floor. Over kill when constructed. Pro am was installed on a rug and has never been moved. It seems the main issue is one corner can not be lowered enough no matter what they try which they think is a slate issue

3 Piece Diamond slate is notorious for this: one will be cupped, the center crowned and the last one will have a flared corner on the seam side. So after you "magically" seam up the above described slate with the liquid dowels technique and finish with bondo, you then have to flex/ bend the shit out of it with the leveling system to get it within a line on the Starrett: NO THANKS< NEVER DOING IT AGAIN! No one should have to do this with NEW< FLAT SLATE.

I have had a similar issue that you are describing, was the "BOX" built onsite or at Diamond?? We had a box built at factory that was incorrect, we chased our tail for EVER, to figure out it was a manufacturing issue was ANNOYING> After we corrected it, it leveled very easy. One corner was raised up 3/8", someone did not screw the deck down enough about 5 screws down the line from one of the corners and it was ruining our day!

Sorry you are having this issue, I do also understand you are in an area where Diamond Mechanics are in short supply. I hope it gets handled in a quick and painless process.....

Box built at factory… Well Diamond called me quickly this morning… They going to send out another team… At least they going to try again and no charge for completely taking it apart and put it together if they have to. Always had great customer service with them and they don’t give up. I can respect that. I just need this fixed….

I think that is the exact issue I am having because the machinists level it looks like about 3/8 “ off and no matter what we do we can’t lower that corner

I would make SURE whom ever comes to work on the table, has a FLAT set of slate on their truck.... Order of operation: remove old slate, do not waste A SINGLE minute more with it, install new/ flat slate, level, recover, final leveling with top on and pick up tools to leave....

Its good that Diamond is taking care of you, but, wasting anymore time on that slate would be the LAST thing I would be doing with my business. I have installed many 3 piece Diamond Pro Ams, this is coming from my experience, not something I read somewhere on here.

If they finally determine the slate is bad, what can they do to fix it ?? NOTHING IF THERE IS NOT A SET OF REPLACEMENT SLATE..... Wouldn't this all be more stress and a waste of time??? Replacing the slate is the right option for you, the customer and what I would do as a Diamond dealer. Whom ever sold you the table, should be eating all of this...

I need some clarification here, was it the factory installers that set your Diamond up when it was delivered, or your local Diamond dealers installers, there's a BIG difference! Some here believe DIAMOND is responsible for ANY table set up, by anyone, and that's just BS!

I gave you my phone number, but I haven't received a call from you as of yet.

You'd be surprised at how many jobs I have to straighten out following these so called Diamond Authorized installers that go around setting up Diamond pool tables, getting paid good money, only to do lousy work. Then if the customer isn't happy with the table, the first thing everyone does is point their finger at Diamond, like the bad set up is THEIR fault, when in FACT, is the unqualified installer that did the work in the first place. I can assure you, no installer working for the factory set your table up the first time.

Diamond should have NEVER supplied business cards to installers who like to flash them and show them off as like a badge of honor, or qualifications, especially since DIAMOND no longer works with some of THEM anymore!

Isn't that badmouthing the Diamond authorized installers?
Aren't they certified by DIAMOND?
So, whose fault is this?
The installers or Diamond?

No, they're not, but they all claim to be professionals!!! Brunswick, Olhausen, and everyone else as the same problems as well

If those in charge, or think they're in charge of this industry, knew what they were doing, there wouldn't be so many screwed up pool tables. Take Predator for example, they started out with 16 tournament tables, now they're down to only 8, because if they knew what they were doing, they wouldn't have let 8 tables get destroyed in the process of transportation and set up at the events they're promoting.

Buy new rail cushions, do they come with factory directions explaining how to install them? Nope

Buy new cloth, does it come with instructions explaining the best way to install it? Nope

Nothing in this industry comes with instructions, why not?

If installers were required to pass a skill certification test in order to be able to work on pool tables, 99% of the installers would fail, why?

Because there's NO schools, not training courses, NOTHING to teach anyone how to work on pool tables.

This is a monkey see, monkey do trade, no skills required to get started!

There's only a few installer/mechanics over the last 17 years I've been on AZB that I've seen that have actually applied themselves to this trade, to become professionals, the rest just expect to be called professionals just because they work on pool tables!

Is it me, or is slate supposed to be FLAT and not take a 3rd set of installers?? Fighting a set of bogus slate for hours and hours is NOT part of my job. Non flat slate should equal a heavy DISCOUNT!!! Time is money, frustration is not! Keep us posted OP!!

GOOD LUCK

That sucks. The average person wouldn't know the difference so the people who have elevated their skills still have to compete with hacks who take less time, and whose time is less valuable because of lesser skills.

I don't currently know what the status of your Diamond is, but I did try reaching out to you by posting my phone number so you could call me. There's no one that knows more about Diamond tables than I do, and I'm directly linked to the factory, so any issues you're having with your table, I can get them resolved, even it it means exchanging your slates. I don't agree with you having to pay a service call fee of $250 if that was the case, and once speaking with you, and getting the facts from you directly, I might even be able to resolve the service call fee as well. 99% of all complaints about Diamond tables, Diamond slates, and Diamond in general fall on the installers lack of experience, most of them want to act like they know what they're talking about, but they still don't have the experience to be experts at table mechanics which is why I classify them as installers instead, because installing is the 99% they actually do.

This is my phone number again, Glen 702-927-5689

Now understand this, and to the one that complained the loudest, I've reached out to the OP, and have yet to get a reply, I've called and talked with Diamond, the factory, and no, they didn't sett this customers table up, and NO they don't know anything about his situation! And NO they haven't been called by the OP! So, this goes back to what I originally stated, Diamond is NOT involved in this issue. But according to the OP, the table was FINE, UNTIL THEY CAME OUT AND RECOVERED IT! THEN the problems started! This issue DON'T go back to the ORIGINAL set up of the table in 2020, its a problem that just developed, when? After the table had the cloth REPLACED!!!!!

So all the bashing of Diamond was totally uncalled for, very unprofessional, and disrespectful to Diamond in my opinion!!
Like I've said, there's hacks working everywhere, and even posing as Diamond table mechanics, and if you're willing to pay, they're always WILLING to take your money!!!
