I thought Thorpe was on a ban?

That was more like 5 mo ago, but agreed - whatever. Bottom line no one really seems to know but everyone has strong opinions on it all. Rock on ✌. I’ve exceeded my AZB time allocation for this month, it was stimulating to say the least
Some know.
Some don't.

It was publicly available information and this is a pool forum. See you next month (2 days).

I can see why that might make sense for Olympic runners, but seems to be an odd thing to ban in pool. It's not like you have to be in top physical shape to be great at pool.

Sounds like you need a pool player constitution or bill of rights. I hear the pros are drafting up documents.

There are other threads on this, but the pool powers (WCBS > WPA > BCA) are desperate for Olympic recognition and therefore follow WADA drug guidelines. The alternate position is that pool would be better off with cannabis and sportsbook sponsorship.

I think it comes under performance enhancement (not sure) which, God forbid that sports should improve lol.

Lol @ some here thinking marijuana use is a problem for the billiard industry. As they pour themselves another beer, scotch or whiskey in between trips outside to choke down another disgusting cigarette.

Certainly shows just how antiquated and out of touch with reality some here are.

If anything they should embrace it, partner with it and promote it because the marijuana industry speaks directly to a demographic the billiard industry is failing to capitalize on.

Pool should be so lucky to have the support of the much larger, better marketed marijuana industry not the other way around.

I love this idea. It used to just be called "The Constitution," and "The Bill of Rights," but politicians and corporations have teamed up to try to kill individual liberty, so I guess we need new stuff.

I would absolutely love to see more people fight for their rights.

I guess MANY of the posters here have a problem reading/comprehending written text. So again - Billy Thorpe has never been on USADA sanctions list which is a public info - that means that Billy has officially never failed a test and never refused to be tested by WADA/USADA. Basically anyone spreading the info about Billy's failed test is potentially in a world of trouble if Billy decided to file for libel suit which includes the posters here..

That's not the test for libel. And there was lots of confusion from many people. Here is Earl talking about it:

Dude is a kid who made a mistake..get off your high horse. I’m sure you haven’t lived a perfect life.
My thoughts exactly. Keyboard priests on their high altar of virtue. I met BT in Olathe when he was 18. Really a nice kid. I think he's battling his demons pretty well myself. Quit knocking him.

I think most posters are making a distinction between judging him as a person & as an athlete subject to a sanctioning body. It's the athlete's job to know the rules. The guy in the office next to mine is friends w/ a former Pittsburgh Steeler. He said there were many guys who weren't clean in the offseason but understood they had to follow the rules to see the field & earn their money during the NFL season.
