That's what I would have done, a small square of black duct tape. Of course it probably would have been a moot point, if I felt I was not breaking any rules/regulations I would have been on tilt for getting docked a game and that would have probably ended my tournament. Not sure if the reason was TV or not, but any time I've ever played where logos couldn't be displayed, a small bit of electrical tape fixes it.
No. They actually had "PREDATOR" embossed sideways on the lower half of the leg.I have some Puma athletic pants and just compared the two logos side by side. IT is quite surprising how similar they are. On the Puma the cats tail is up like it is jumping but on the Predator logo it is down like the cat is starting to stalk it's prey.. There are some other artistic qualities to the Predator cat but they look a lot alike..
Could the pants have been Puma and you mistook it for a Predator logo??
It was worse than that. The ref came over to me while I was practicing and said she noticed the small logo on the side of my pants and said they weren't allowed. She then asked if I had a match coming up and if I could go change. I did have a match coming up in about 45 minutes and I told her I didn't have time to drive to my AirBnB, change, and get back. She then asked for my name which I gave her and she said I had to give my opponent 1 game on the wire. After practicing I went to the other side of the room to my table and as soon as my opponent got there I told him I was giving him a game on the wire and we marked it on the score sheet. Then, when the score was 4-2 me (one of his wins being the game on the wire) a different ref came over and literally started yelling at me that I need to give him a game. I said I already did that and my opponent agreed. She then said we were wrong in how we were applying the penalty. She said he WASN'T supposed to get a game on the wire but instead I was supposed to play to an extra game. Both of us argued and she called up another ref who agreed with her interpretation. We then played out the match and I won 6-1 (we took away the game on the wire and made me go to 6) THEN when I turned in my score sheet the desk said it was wrong and that we were right originally when we gave him the game. There reasoning was that everything is so time controlled that they NEVER extend the races. Either way it was messed up because they acted like I was doing something wrong even when my opponent told them that was the first thing I did. Luckily he was a sponsored OB pro who had integrity. It was definitely tilting. That's what I would have done, a small square of black duct tape. Couldn't you have found a razor blade or a sharp knife and cut the logo off and then handed to the b!*@h to escape penalty instead of changing?? Or maybe you could have suggested that your pants identified as fine non sports related denim wear cause we know that's what really matters, not what they actually are. I mean just what hate group do you suppose that ref belongs to anyway???It was worse than that. One of my teammates happened to be there to watch me play suggested I put some black tape over it to which the ref replied that many people have tried stuff like that and it never works. Lol.Couldn't you have found a razor blade or a sharp knife and cut the logo off and then handed to the b!*@h to escape penalty instead of changing?? I know I saw quite a few players wearing them thoughWas there any pros on the tv tables wearing these new pants?
But then they extended the race?... There reasoning was that everything is so time controlled that they NEVER extend the races. ...
Maybe Predator wants this game to be more like golf. You know, where you have to “read” the green before every shot.Next year, wear a pair of Diamond Billiards Products pants with an ‘Our Tables Roll Straight’ written across your ass. Full exposure on every shot.
Although, that would probably cost you more than a game.![]()
I did let them know. That’s how we found out the refs were wrong. The refs made us extend the race when it should have been one game less. But then they extended the race?
In any case you need to let CSI know about the problem and if possible the names of the refs. That's how things might be better next time.
Your opponent was a sponsored OB Pro who was wearing Predator pants? Where's the integrity? HAHAHAIt was worse than that.
