In college, my friends would assign a letter for every unrepaired accident and another letter for each 100K of mileage. Most guys’s cars were TURDs.

Some of those catches were amazing! I caught a 80MPH 30° slide when I got my downshift rev match a little wrong at the turn-in point for Sebring turn 17.

I used to short track race cars. Saw some crazy lucky saves even made a few myself! Prevented a few saves too. Some of the funniest things I saw was when I was running a wrecker service though. Got a call near noon one day, a car in a field. I went out and the car could have been driven out with little or no problem. Funny thing, the car was several hundred feet or more out in a field on a dead straight road. I had to ask the lady what happened. "You know that right angle curve back there?" She was pointing over a quarter mile away, maybe a half mile. "I lost control in that curve in the heavy fog this morning. I fought the car and fought it but I just couldn't make it go straight. I got so tired I gave up!"
