2022 World Snooker Championship (Apr 16th - May 2nd)

Judd runs out to 33, and just when he's about to surge forward, he misses, leaving the brown in the jaws of the pocket. Here comes Ronnie!

I saw a boxing promo while waiting for the snooker stream earlier today, and they were pronouncing DAZN as "da-zone", for "in the zone". I have been pronouncing it "Da-zen" since Matchroom started using them a few years ago.

Ronnie at 33, Judd at 33. Ronnie still at the table.

Now Ronnie has 46., Judd 33. Three reds left on the table. One down. Ronnie has 47.

Nine fames to play in Session 2, and it looks like Ronnie will have won seven of them.

Ronnie has 53, Judd benched and stuck at 33.

Stephen Hendry commentating says Judd Trump is going to have to do something extraordinary tomorrow.

End of play for the first day, 12-5.

He’s done that about 3 times this session. Gets in a winning position and something happens. Pressure.

Hope your well JAM, Mary’s dinner was so nice in Vegas-thought of you!

Best
Eric 😃😍🙏🏼

Are there equipment "limits" in snooker? I'm suprrised there are no maple shafts, or now, CF shafts. Are players required to use ash shafts and brass ferrules? Or do the players prefer them?

Finals scoring so far, by mini-session:

O'Sullivan - Trump
3-1
2-2 (Total after Session 1: 5-3)
3-1
4-1 (Total after Session 2: 12-5)

I don't know about limits, but in this video Karl reviews a CF cue that was made for Snooker and has a 10mm tip.

Fast to 8:00 to see it used on a snooker table.

preference. stephen hendry won 7 world championships with a maple cue. also mark allen uses maple, with titanium ferrule

I remember how imposing and impossible 9’ pool tables seemed to me when I first started playing pool, which was almost exclusively on bar boxes.

I’d love to be able to see a snooker table through the eyes of someone like Ronnie.

At the very highest level, is it a matter of most of the standard shots looking and actually being relatively easy for them, or are these guys just absolute masters of extreme focus on almost every shot? Or both?

World titles have been won with maple and ash shafts…but the most world titles have been won with oak…Joe Davis.
Pear and cherry have also competed.

For most pool players the unbelievable thing about the snooker cues is the tip looks like something Hippie Dave would play with.

Many won't grasp that so... those tips more closely resemble chef's hats then dime or nickle radius tips. At least the close ups I have seen.
