My wife just returned from visiting family members on the other side of the country and she came back with a box of old stuff we left there about a decade ago. I was overjoyed to see this beauty sitting in the box. He wrote me a nice message on the inside cover as well. RIP Grady!

Great that it turned up. That book is rare and sell for many times the original price. Its always nice to find something special when you thought it may never be seen again.

wonderful people.
because of grady's teaching and commentary i try to refrain from shots that are "fraught with peril" 😉

He had several wives. His favorite (and most recent) was Randi.
 
Grady was one of the best guys for the sport and in general. I met him once at a tournament in MA and he treated me like an old friend every time he ran into me at the place.

I knew Grady for about 17-18 years I’d guess. I really liked him. His number is still in my phone. I can’t delete it.🥲

Grady loved pool as much as anyone ever. He was totally dedicated to pool.

I got a few Grady stories. I recall Grady being asked a one pocket problem in the late 70s at the Rack.
Thirty tough, hard bitten road players gathered around the table while Grady held court, using multi-syllabic words.
…..they were looking like school children.
He always brought me a carton of Camels when he came to Canada.

I have a signed copy that I got when I was part of a group lesson at his house. He had great stories that weren't in the book!
