maybe a fightback from ko bros on the way
turns out my stream was delayed and spain had already won, 9-4. USA vs singapore now
maybe a fightback from ko bros on the way
Yup, nicely played by Singapore to blow out Team USA in the semis, but even this level may not be good enough to challenge Team Spain in the race to 11 final.i thought this was gonna be lopsided but not this way around. singapore up 7-2 after 5 BNR:s
Don't know why but Singapore has 4 'Official languages' English and Mandarin among them.wonder why the singaporeans communicate in english. aren't they both singapore chinese?
Singapore Chinese are bilingual, multilingual. It is a Commonwealth country and all Commonwealth countries have proficiency in Englishwonder why the singaporeans communicate in english. aren't they both singapore chinese?

I'm not convinced they'll stay on top, but timing is everything, so it's possible. In 2022, Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz has been consistently brilliant, but David Alcaide has run very hot and cold. Right now, however, David is in his peak form, coming off a very impressive showing at the UK Open (until running into a very in-form Josh Filler in the semis), which makes this team incredibly strong. All the credit to Team Spain. They're on fire.Spain tiki-taka their way to final with impressive display. Both execute all aspects so well and are so consistent. If they win this year, they may go on to replicate the success of Spain in world football a decade ago.
The path of least resistance in Singapore is English. It's the language of government, education, business and commerce as well being the de facto national language. It would be incredibly unusual for someone of Yapp's age to prefer Mandarin or a dialect over English as a primary means of communication. Hence it makes sense that he speaks to his coach/playing partner (who is actually not old, despite being the oldest player in the WCOP) in English rather than Chinese.sure, but communication, like flowing water, seeks the paths of less resistance. i assume they don't speak the same brand of chinesish
Closest thing we’ve gotten to that was Ronnie traveling around America playing pool with various pros.It would be awesome for someone to do a pool travelogue series where they travel around the world playing pool in different locales (like the food shows, but with pool). It's really amazing the number of great players from all corners of the globe.
Fund me. I'll do it.It would be awesome for someone to do a pool travelogue series where they travel around the world playing pool in different locales (like the food shows, but with pool). It's really amazing the number of great players from all corners of the globe.
Yes, but Orcullo/Biado don't have the fortune to play together in WCOP. Was supposed to play this year. Philippines keeps changing/rotating personnel every year like Taiwan. Heard that Wu playing Chinese 8 ball and winning some events so doubtful he will be returning to 9ball anytime soon even if he can travel.I'm not convinced they'll stay on top, but timing is everything, so it's possible. All that said, I'm not so sure they'd have been favored over Orcullo/Biado or Wu/Zheng, teams that circumstance sadly obstructed from participation.
Actually am enjoying that new Jeff Bridges thriller "The Old Man".Finals start at 1pm EST. Spain vs Singapore. I'm rooting for the underdog, Singapore. It would be nice to see an older gentleman on the winning team.
