CSI dumps Diamond for Predator tables

As a side note, I see that Seyberts now lists the Predator 9 ft on pre-order. $9,000. Not too much of an incentive to buy an Apex over a Diamond, is it?

I would be surprised in Diamond Billiards is genuinely worried about this development. If nothing else, maybe this might decrease the lead time it takes one to get a Diamond table once ordered.

I just viewed it from the financial side of the issue. I really have no opinion on one being better than the other. I have only played on one diamond in my life. I liked it. Never played on an apex, so I really can't say. Just like any other table, if set up properly, it will probably play wonderful.

My brother and I recently purchased a gold crown 3 from Trent. Still working 7 days a week in the fields because the weather is cooperating too well. Going to set it up as soon as we get a chance. Once we get that set up, I don't think we'll be desiring either a Diamond or a Predator.

Yes, with cushion rubbers in good condition and set up correctly, it should play great.

This should be pinned (with the link expanded).

Writing correctly is, among other things, a sign of respect and courtesy. If someone will take the time to read my remark, it is incumbent upon me to make it as easy as possible to reach my meaning. We all fall down now and then, especially in the heat of the moment, but to repeatedly publish garbage is insulting.

When writing in obscure foreign languages, translations should be provided.

Hopefully SAM went back to the drawing board and reengineered the 7' table so it can be setup, carted and setup again without issue. That was the problem with the 9' tables. They weren't designed to be carted and setup multiple times like a Diamond. If they haven't changed anything there will be lots of pissed off amateurs at CSI events.

Don’t think table band is important to most pool players, getting paid if you win is most important thing,

Predator has cut deal with CSI, that don’t effect much but CSI’s bottom line.

Besides everyone has same table brand to play in so the handicap or happiness is your alone.

Maybe if Valley would do a little engineering tweaking to their tables, Predator and Diamond might be left with their dicks dragging in the dirt.

Such as redesigning so the rails bolt directly to the slate Instead of the cabinet? Really nothing wrong with them other then that.

I don't know if that is so important for a 7 foot table, though it is better, of course. They could use some better slate support/leveling and a pocket redesign. If the prize could be kept low, that may be enough. The biggest drawback of Valley tables has always been that they are almost never close to level, not to a pro standard.

And mainly that the rails to not bolt on to the slate on a Valley. I am not sure why they are so resistant to this idea?? Every commercial table in the industry does it that way. Even home tables. I am confused by this for sure.

...it is more efficient to have the ability to set the plot from both sides of the table but, it looks like a good start.

Money talks..
I would have thought that the fact that Diamond tables are made in USA would carry more weight.
Shane had to go to China to get a table sponsor?? Who is the Russian Fedor Gorst sponsored by? All things in our industry are a bit off. Not hating, just making a clear observation and wondering how it got that way??

Well done a rebuilt GC or a mint GC is a better idea 8 days a week.

Next,
Fatboy 😀😀
