Anyone know what this yellow staining is?

Pretty obvious by the pockets, and also on the rails where the balls make contact, balls are a set of 15yr old aramith pros. 860 felt is maybe 2yrs old at this point.

Getting ready to recover the table and would like to not have this happen again if possible.

Thanks, kind of thought it might be from the polish, but I've only polished the balls once, ...
In that case, it's not from waxy buildup as was suggested.

Is pizza and pool a common thing with the kids? I'm suspecting crud on hands getting on the balls and then on the table.

I went to a small tournament in a room that had fairly nice full-sized tables. The rails looked a little funny. When I scraped my fingernail across the top of the nose of the cushion, I got a fingernail full of a waxy, dark substance. Never went back.

I would get a new set of balls and never use those old ones again on the new cloth. I've seen some sets of the old super pros that didn't age well, and refuse to hold a polish and get dirty super fast. I'm guessing it's the balls themselves.
https://weststatebilliards.com/shop/item/accessories/balls/dynasphere-bronze-ball-set/ these are quite nice and very reasonably priced.
If nothing else, you will be able to eliminate a variable of the problem.

You don't suppose this stain is slightly orange do you?

OP check the 5 ball, is there a little purple starting to show?
That’s exactly what it is!!! A leaky 5 Ball, staining up the cloth ever so slowly……..

That was a brilliant solution to this most curious of troubles in pool this week

Hope all is well😃😃😃

We are having a great summer 💪💪💪

I get that same stain on Simonis Championship Blue cloth, but shows up slightly different in color. I still get it but not as bad once I started wiping down the insides of the pockets. I also get this pretty bad on the pocket facings and the break shot track as well. I clean my cloth with a damp micro fiber cloth and this does come off with a bit of elbow grease. I always thought it was from dust, chalk debris laying in the pockets. Also, I have never waxed or polished the balls, only wipe them off with the damp fiber cloth.

It's from the pockets, as stated earlier. Balls have only been polished once, in two years. Low humidity, dry leather, fibers on the balls. Leather fibers transferring to cloth. Just a guess.
