Jayson Shaw in the Hunt for Another 14.1 Record

Predictable.

Don't concern yourself with improving the situation for yourself or anyone else.

In fact, make it as difficult as possible for anyone to want to support you. Then complain about how unfairly things went.

Here's the risk though, the BCA refusing to examine further submissions.

Don Mackey school of pool about to get a new member.

If you’d kept up you’d know that if there are future issues with the BCA they will not be from anything I’ve said, lol.

There have been a couple of statements posted from others that make what little I’ve said about those issues look like quotes from the Buddha.

Of course you haven’t kept up and like one of those guys that say, “I haven’t read the whole thread…” you offer your poorly informed opinion anyway.

Par for the course.

The past is nebulous and mistakes, if any, cannot be mended. There never were standards for an exhibition run, so any run was subject to some arbitrary interpretations. In my view, there's little point in arguing over the certification of runs in the past. I've generally taken the view that anything the BCA has certified is good enough for me, but they had little to guide them in the past and did the best they could.

Credit to the BCA, however, for developing a new set of guidelines for exhibition runs. Yes, the past is a murky mess that has, understandably, led to some contentiousness, but there will be some clarity going forward.

Just as you say, Lou, the adoption of rules for high runs by the BCA is fine and will make things simpler going forward.

Absolutely, Stu.

Damn he runs balls effortlessly. I am not a 14.1 expert, but his end of rack seems tighter than last time. Maybe it's not and it's just his ridiculous pocketing and cue ball on a string...Regardless, fun to watch.

And his patterns!

For the love of God, you cannot predict his patterns. They are totally unorthodox but whaddahey, they’re working for him.

Lou Figueroa
Unorthodox, Lou, but repeated continually, consistently, and productively -- the very definition and descriptive summation of a unique *style*.

These style breakthroughs have historically set many artists, athletes, and performers rewardingly and instructively apart from their peers in all sports and in all the arts and sciences for centuries.

Right on, Jayson.

I can't speak to others intents or interpretatios and reading the words you wrote you clearly choose words that indicate you believe the BCA took prejudicial steps to counter your submission. ..while in reality, that's what consideration involves.

crazy how fast he runs racks. in the 11th now after 20 something minutes
That's a bad dude there.

I remember when he first popped on the world pool scene and I said I'd have to reserve judgement, to see if he belonged at the top.

No reservations, a decade and a record and the fire to go better all in the books now.

He whacks them open like Joe balsas used to, when you get the balls totally scattered you don't even need patterns. We can all run those racks. But there's got to be fear of a scratch on the break or something bad happening cuz they are uncontrolled breaks.
