Referees needed for US Open in Atlantic City

$50/day, and sharing a room with a total stranger...no thanks. Not surprising there were a bunch of no-shows, a few years back.

I guess the referees make a little more than that, but still. Probably some long days of standing on your feet much of the time. Plus, I suspect there is at least one day of training.

This is three years old. (i.e. it's NOT current), but it might give an idea of what is involved: https://matchroompool.com/news/mosconi-cup/ref-factor-got-takes-pools-next-top-ref
What adults are going to agree to sharing a hotel room with a stranger? Jesus, that's embarrassing.

Pool players and fans do it all the time and dont think twice about it. Not me but ive seen players and fans solicit for a roommate-any roommate many times. It's not an economic summit.
I know they do, always found that odd. This is a job though. When I worked construction if they would have told me I had to share a room, much less with a fng, I would have laughed in their face. This ain't the cub scouts.

Think you might get more people to Referee if pay was better.

Friend did it at Riveria BCSPL Event years ago. Believe he got $50.00/shift. Believe he said shift were 10-12 hours.

Got paid 🥜.

compared to 'construction jobs, they aren't even in the same Universe.

Last year the rackers were $50 a day plus room plus food allowance. I would think refs would get more $$. They don’t have a ref at each table. If one is needed he would be called over.
Wow $50 a day for repetitive motion stress.

From email.

Matchroom has recently reached out to the Billiard Congress of America to see if we can help secure referees for this year's US Open at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City.
If you are or know someone who may be interested in learning more about how to be a referee for this event please contact Shane Tyree at shane@bca-pool.com or 303.243.5070x23.

The US Open (9-ball) is October 10-15. The referees are probably most needed the first three days.
Bob a member on the forum tells me that your not asking for Refs , or looking for referees is this so ?
