my Simonis only lasted me 1.5 years, which I’m not really too happy about. In the beginning, i cared for the cloth like a new born baby. Vacuumed every other day, wiped down with a warm micro soft cloth with warm water Every three days. Covered when not in use.
But I slowly fell off of my maintenance rountine, and then the grandkids started throwing the balls on the table, dog jumped up to get the cue ball, i got lazy, ect. My biggest problem is that i dont have much room on either short rail, so i do 90 percent of practice shots on the short rail with the most room. So all of this wear and tear happened in one spot on the cloth.

So now i start again. 320 for predator cloth, 240 for my mechanic to install, and 300 for tv balls. Will cover all the time now, no kids allowed near the table, ordering new billiard gloves, new masters chalk. Shark cordless Vacuum to give the cloth a cleaning. Hopefully this cloth lasts longer.

Another perspective, you must have played a lot of pool (even in one area), and still have the pool bug:) Good on you.

My Simonis 860 is on its 10th year, and its still in good shape. My pool bug comes and goes, but mostly goes. ha ha.

2 1/2 years on my 860, easily do another 2 1/2. I don't ever damp rag my cloth, but do vacuum every couple of days with a shop vacuum and a soft bristle brush.

Wow, 1 1/2 years doesn't sound like a very long life span for Simonis on a home table. Seems like it should last longer than that. Mine is 8 years old and still going strong. It doesn't get used like it would in a pool room, but it does get used a fair amount. I brush it off at the end of most sessions, and vacuum it every once in a while, too. And I also keep mine covered whenever it's not in use.

Anyway, enjoy the new cloth and balls!

I will cover this table when not in use. I play 3 hours a day, being retired With lots of free time. I really enjoy the game.
I was not happy with only 1.5 years. But it was my fault. I kept practicing my long stop shots by putting the cue ball in the same area near the short rail, which made that area worn out. I will now move around the table, instead of just staying on that short rail.

Yes it was. this new predator cloth and the cloth the pros play on in the major tournaments is so crazy fast. It’s almost funny. A 6 inch draw shot becomes a full table draw shot its so fast. I dont know who the pros do it if there table at home has used cloth. The balls just keep rolling and rolling. Lolll

Something sounds off. Simonis 860HR is a fast cloth and ultra durable. Are you certain someone didn’t charge you Simonis money and install something else? If you have a black light you can check for the Simonis watermark on the cloth. Most pool halls around here use 860HR and even they aren’t changing cloth in 1.5 years.

no way you wore out simonis that fast. even using it the way you did. no way.

Have to agree with the earlier post, if you spend all that money to get things fresh and new, spend 40 bucks and get 2 pieces of taom v10. It really really helps keep your table clean. Especially since you are staring with all new equipment!

I used the same cloth on my Gold Crown due to the lack of Simonis availability…. Agreed Crazy Fast!

This has been exactly my experience with Simmons and the bug.
Those hole reinforcements for notebooks help with shooting the balls from the same spot(drills).
