I cut the paper down, too. I find that once you get to the level of the paper, it's too easy to drop.Me too.

That's about what mine looks like. It's clear that you are not of the Borer Tribe, those pitiful, ignorant sons of guns. I use them to break in new chalk and give it a good edge. They are not good for much else. Well, I guess they do pay the majority of table time.
But seriously, folks, if you go to a major tournament where there are a lot of good players, that's how the chalk will look at the end. The top players are not Borers.
We should introduce our chalk cubes to each other. Mine is worn exactly the opposite of that.

Nope why bother, if pester needs trimming, Rip with two finders.
Rubber Band help grip, and slow roll if dropped.
I only show mine to girls 21 and older.

No chalk handy to photograph. I use the instep of the foot method to spin the cue and watch carefully, stopping when I get the first wisps of smoke distinguishable from the haze of blue chalk dust filling the air. Alternately, I spin until the chalk gets too hot to hold.
