JOHN MORRA VS TYLER $80K MATCH

Wow. Tyler playing well. Up 65-59 now and breaking like a dream. Looking bad for team Morra.

Another break and run. 67-59.

Then a dry break. I finally get to see John shoot!

John has looked a little fatigued today imo. Tyler, to his credit, has taken advantage of every mistake.

Tyler finally gets out of line on a tough transition and hangs a ball. John runs out, 60-68. Tough road ahead for him from here.

Brutal! John breaks well, gets a look at the one but it doesn't have a pocket. He plays a billiard to carom in a ball hanging in the side pocket, he makes the carom (I didn't even see the shot was available) and the one ball banks back and kisses the cue ball in after it.

Tyler had to play a safe. Left John a sliver maybe but he hit a ball going in and fouled again. Tyler runs out. 69-60.

Tyler gets jacked up over a ball, pretty tough break. Makes the shot but leaves himself long. Makes that shot but hits it thin and overruns and hooks himself. Had a good jump at it but couldn't put it down. John runs out. 61-69.

John wins another to go 62-69 but comes up dry.

Can't play Tyler 10 ball without a top flight break. You can't figure you're breaking 'well enough' to be competitive and make it up somewhere else. There are a few guys in the world who can break as well as Tyler and play better after the break, but I think that's the only road to victory for an opponent of his.

Thanks for the updates

Ye break advantage too large to overcome, esp in a long race.
Makes me feel like Earl: "These guys should be playing placement pool and take the break out of it!"

Since I only watch for signs of pool [ :) ] I tend to root for the trailer. Just crave the good stuff over anybody in a quantum trap.

If it went day 5 it would be 99 to 100.
These guys are pretty even.
Styer breaks better.

It's hard for me to reconcile Styer's Fargorate. I think he's in the 750s and Morra is 791 as of today. I'm sure I'm wrong and the calculation is accurate, but he seems underclocked.

Anyway, I don't follow the ratings closely and not trying to rehash a thread on how accurate the ratings are.
