No one questions when a family supports their heritage. Whether it was Confederate or Union.
What the heck does that mean? And if it means anything, which I kind of doubt, what does it have to do with anything I said?
In schools it is the government that recognize people by ethnicity and Black is one of them.
The only people that take somebody's skin color into consideration are racists. You clearly are a racist, and a huge one at that.
The Academy is not a good fit for you.
You got that right. I hate racists, and the very foundation of your "academy" is built on racism with the goal of furthering the proliferation of racism.
I recommend a pool league or other billiard community.
Yup, billiard communities are a good place for discussing and playing pool. You should try both sometime.

At the Academy we consider ourselves as player development specialists. We can provide services to at risk youth, correctional facilities and foster homes.

There are plans to work with women in recovery from abuse. Pool is a sport, at the Academy pool is a pathway to community and active workforce participation.
This is accurate and is currently happening as we speak - easily.

If any one is interested in becoming a certified Harriman Cue instructor, the first certification test will begin in a few months.

Dan is one man, imagine if there was a team of instructors, using Harrimans methods of pedagogy and androgogy. Sign up and find out how you can grow the billiard community.

You keep spelling that wrong. A common problem when you use terms you're really not familiar with.

I may be way off here, but, playing pool in the pool community for over 30+ years, I have NEVER EVER seen discrimination in pool tournaments, groups, events, acadamies, etc. The pool leagues and tournaments I've played in and traveled to have the most inclusive group of men, women, kids, ages, races, etc. than of any community I've ever been a part of.

The lack of scholarships?

What type of scholarships? Because me being white, I didn't even know there were scholarship I could get for acadamies, and pool schools.

It comes down to money and skill (your own money, not someone elses that they should "give it to you" because of your race, it also comes down to how good you actually are (which has nothing to to with race). The only time someone elses money comes into play depends on "how good you actually are" then they might back you, sponsor you, support you, but this has nothing to do with race, it has to do with "how good you play". "how good you present your game".

The Mosconi Cup? The participants are based off of points I believe that they earn through the calender year and certain events if I'm not mistaken. If a person of a certain race isn't in the Mosconi cup, it's not because of race, it's because they didn't play good enough to earn the spot. I'm white and I'm not in the Mosconi Cup. I'm the top player in my league division but not good enough to rank to where they would want me in the Mosconi Cup.

My local pool tournaments and leagues are very very racially diverse and pool communities all over the world are the best of communities, best of families.

Racism in pool is the dumbest thing I've ever heard someone say.

NOW, IF someone started an academy to train people and teach pool players and they are "on purpose" not accepting certain applications based on race, then this shold be looked into. Prove it, get the applications that are being "set aside" and prove it. Post it, ALL of us in the pool community will stand behind anyone that uncovers such a discriminatory action.

Didn't @Dan Harriman
Tell everyone he is the best banks player around?
Funny, didn’t see his name at The Derby?
Should have been a walk in the park for him.

This academy, sounds like it will be the same as watching a sloth race Usain bolt.
He's a full rack banks specialist and he is pretty good at it.
