20 dollar chalk?? What’s the world coming to?

I'm using the Pyro right now I am interested in trying the V10, But I've got three pieces of it right now. My last piece lasted about 4 months. It might of lasted longer if I didn't keep dropping it on the concrete floor that often.

Maybe I'll pick a piece up at the SBE

“No, Honey, I wasn’t down at the pool hall again. See? My hands are clean, no chalk!”
That's funny.
My father used to do that when I was about 14 and trying to keep me out of the poolrooms in the city.
I was working at a pizza shop too at that time.
I would tell him that I was working.
He believed me because I think he wanted to.
You brought back memories.

Tex, i use a 1400 dollar pool cue, a 6 thousand dollar pool table, 300 armsmith pool balls, and a 500 dollar break cue. 20 bucks ain’t much my friend. Looks like i should be good for the year for 40 bucks. I will take it.
And non of them are worth squat if you aint got the stroke.

Just some observations:

Difference between Taom and Master in performance: Negligible.
Difference between Taom and Master in cleanliness: Immense.
Difference between Taom and Master in longevity: I'd estimate Taom lasts at least 5x longer. Maybe more.
Difference between Pyro and V10: Negligible.

The big reason to use Taom is to save the equipment. If you have your own table, it's a must. If you don't, there's no real advantage. I use Taom away from home, but there's really no good reason to. Just increases the chance I lose an expensive cube of chalk. Maybe I should stop doing that.
One advantage of the Taom chalk is that it doesn't stick to the cue ball, so fewer skids.

I personally use the Taom V10 as well and love it. It leaves the table clean and is lasting significantly longer than any Masters chalk I've had before. For the first reason alone, I consider it $20 well spent. Maybe that makes me a fool, but I am a happy fool!

I use blue diamond with no problems but i will try the v10 .
I tried several different brands last month, trying to find the cause of an equipment problem.
Blue Diamond left the most marks on the cue ball, compared to the other brands.

This is also what i experience at home with my table. No dust chalk anywhere to be found. the balls stay cleaner , the cue stays cleaner and my hands are cleaner. BUT, I have to ask. Where does the material (that the Taom chalk is made of) go? I'm think the paste like material is building up on my table cloth. My vacuum does not pick up anything. And in the very long rum, it will affect the play of the cloth. Am I wrong or just a bit crazy?
You made a really, really, good point on where does it go, I was thinking the same thing.... overtime will it build up in a different manner. I haven't bought it yet for home, but time will tell.

Would love to get feedback from other people on this, that obviously have home tables and understand cleaning regularly, etc, etc.

Good friend who passed away few years back ,,would keep a cube of masters in his glove compartment in his car. When he was out late with some pretty and after sending her on her way, he would get the chalk out and cover his hands with it. When he would get home his wife would ask where he had been so late , and he would always tell her, he had been out with his girl friend, and she would yell back,,ya lie-ing bastard you been out playing pool again, just look at your hands.

Dust is there, whatever lands on the cloth is so fine it’s barely noticeable. Even shots into the cloth that leave marks are negligible.

With Masters I would need to clean the cloth after every several hours of play and would pick up a fair amount of chalk dust. I’d say I go three times that between cleaning with Taom. And I still don’t pick up nearly as much dust as before.

Same with the CB. I might see a very light smudge on the CB when getting down on a shot, but usually it’s gone without a trace later. Said smudge must either transfer to the cloth or my hand, but it’s so fine it must evaporate.

By far and away the cleanest chalk I’ve ever used. I really feel using whatever formula found in Taom will prolong the life of the cloth, balls, and the entire table for that matter. Not to mention keeping my hands and cue clean.

I just got a cube 😂 Of this chalk (v10). I do admit this is next level, particularly on hard tips (like I like). I feel it grips better and your shot is more true with your stroke. Initially impressed, will comment with more time.

Ps I applied once per rack with no miscues or mess (blue cloth green chalk)

Corey doesn't have this chalk in his case.... 2022 Vegas.
2022 Predator event in Tucson. I'm watching the players practice and Corey is shooting a lot of showy draw shots for a while. When he starts to practice for real he miscued a couple times. After a few minutes he asked Justin Martin if he had any other chalk besides the provided Predator chalk that was at every table. No luck.
I make it a point to grab a new piece on blue diamond the next time I was up in my room. I saw Corey in the lobby and I offered him the cube, which he graciously accepted. His next match was on the streaming table and I was in the stands. He miscued in the third rack. I felt like it was my fault lol. In any case, he definitely didn't have chalk of any kind with him that day.
