Dan Harriman's Cue Sports Prep Academy

Lewis Carroll wrote in the Hunting of the Snark about billiards in 1876. Instead of calling a player a pro, the adjective used is a billiard-maker. The billiard-maker is described as having won more than his share, as if to describe an addiction to winning.

The curious nature of a reader may be alarmed to see banker follows billiard-maker. My question to the community is who is credited for describing a bank shot as a shot when the object ball is played off at least one rail into a pocket?

Does the banker refer to a billiard maker of different skill level?

A billiard-maker whose skill was immense,
Might perhaps have won more than his share--
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

The term is Billiard Marker, not Maker. It refers to an attendant who kept score of games and otherwise facilitated the recreation activity.

So nice work Professor...maybe if you'd read the original works and not some Chinese website version you wouldn't go off in so many completely wrong directions.

Your/You're...Marker/Maker. Learn the difference. That concludes today's lesson.

So close though.

Based on news reports from the 1900s billiard makers in Ireland were associated with criminal behavior at high rates.

However reported crime and convicted criminals are subject of controversy. The clear trend from the past is law enforcement would target pool halls or pool hall patrons or staff.

Referencing Charles Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll in this thread is somehow appropriate in a strange and twisted way. I wonder how much influence the following conversation between a lost and confused Alice and the Cheshire Cat had on our OP...

Alice: “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”

The Cheshire Cat: “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”

Alice: “I don’t much care where.”

The Cheshire Cat: “Then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.”

Alice: “…so long as I get somewhere.”

The Cheshire Cat: “Oh, you’re sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.”

I was using Ebooks on EBSCOhost.

Adaptation of African billiards is underway.
Africa is rich with history and tradition.
A modern version with standard pool competition equipment is being thought out.

Your paper shaft would fit right in with this.

When finished playing African Billiards they could double as pea shooters with the seeds.

Its now being branded as a paper wrap sleeve. A paper wrap sleeve is a pool player personalization accessory to unique identify shooting equipment in storage.

Think comic book sleeves. Its pool cue sleeves. Not paper shaft. It is to give players on camera interview merchandise to show off with branding.

The sleeve ensures thermal integrity when out of case.

I will approach Emily or Karim with a sales pitch next month.

But what ensures the thermal integrity of your bowl cut when your out in the real world, if you ever actually leave Grandma's garage
