Thinking back on this I have my characters mixed up - it wasn't Danny, but wasn't he working at the Golden 8-ball back then?
Yes he was. He played his epic World One Pocket Challenge Match against Ronnie Allen there in 1988.

Don’t want to speak for Jay but no. Jay produced that and linked or posted it a while back. Great IMO. Ronnie was past his prime I suppose but I was blown away by some of his kicks. Danny played good too.
Ronnie was indeed past his prime….but Danny was even farther past his prime.

I think the guy I initally mixed up the names with was actually "Little Joe" Viallpando but got it mixed up with DiLiberto. Im sure Danny would remember my dad, Francis - he was a big time character on the scene in the late 80s, alot of the time with driving him from game to game all night at 15... lol Were you around phoenix at that time?

I was not. Maybe one or two brief visits to Bullshooters and Kolbys.

Not so far past for either one. Ronnie was still one of the top One Pocket players and Danny still finished high in Straight Pool and 9-Ball tourneys.
