earl's pre-break routine is funny as hell but he's mostly producing. playing lights out
Well, no. Anyone who is interested in the game will be following Matchroom events. They announced the change to smaller pockets a long time ago. Catch on, catch up, or be left behind. (And I suspect the equipment was specified in the player's agreement.)...and how many of them knew before hand that they'd be having to play on Euro style 4" tight assd pockets??? ....when they're probably assuming that this is at the US Open, the backyard of where 9ball pool originated with bigger pockets and exciting matches, they'd get to play on equipment they're used to.
But NOPE, they get railroaded...
I think he must have used a touch of inside to get that skid.horror skid on what would've been match winning 9 for earl. 8-4 now
Scott FrostWho is Karl's new commentary partner? Much better.
he was flyingEarl to the final 64!!
Boom!
That would explain why he knows what he's talking about. Huge improvement.Scott Frost
Yessir, he's doing a decent job. Even when Karl mentioned the shirt foul, he was completely classy. I'm ok with itThat would explain why he knows what he's talking about.

I watched briefly and saw him pound a full table shot in at a million miles per hour to stun over for his next ball. Impressive stuff on such tight pockets.I watched Earl's last match on YouTube. He was gifted the first 2 or 3 games but after that I saw some glimpses of vintage Earl that I haven't seen for years. If Earl (and I know that's a big IF) can bring that game to the table again tomorrow or whenever he plays next there's going to a lot of crow eaten on this forum for all who have been writing him off as some kind of has been. I say give 'em hell Earl!
I always liked listening to Frost in the booth. He's knows the game inside and out, has a good "TV voice" and is just fun to listen to.
You're talking like it's 2015 or something. It's not! Matchroom is on the scene and they are actually growing pool. Their production is the best I've ever seen. I can only offer minor criticisms of anything they've done and my opinions on those minor things could actually be wrong.By your logic; you are saying you don't want to see great play from the amateurs and semi pros, who might I remind you are the BULK of revenue in billiards in general...you want league players to show up, pay up, but not have much chance to do well, as they're used to playing on barboxes or big pocket brunswicks....you want them to get weeded out and see NO upsets, just status quo going forward to the later stages....how boring is that !!! Maybe these 4" pockets are appropriate for 10 ball ...but in my humble, league level, bang ball opinion, 9 ball pool should be... Fast n Loose, more exciting this way.
...And I'd love to see something implemented like this; ...2-game points for a win by combo or carom ....how exciting would that make 9ball....and at the same time bring back the old Hustler style of high risk high reward power shot making.
