cue makers actually taking orders

i’m looking for a recommendation of a cue maker that is actually taking orders and can complete a cue in a reasonable amount of time

4 pointer - seems like most makers focus on six pointers now
radial pin - i have aftermarket shafts
ebony forearm with ebony points
i don’t care about ivory

budget 3-6k

so yeh who is reputable and will actually complete a cue from a custom design ?
 
I know Keith Josey is definitely still taking orders.

It sorta depends on what you're looking for too. The requirements you have are pretty general. A couple of other names I can think of off the top of my head would be Pat Diviney and Rick Howard.

Chris is great, but you're probably looking at a minimum of 18 months for him.

Certainly worth a phone call though, and he will answer.

As an alternative, his stepson/protégé is David Elliot who has turned into an outstanding maker in his own right. Chris swears that he's going to be better than he is.

Right now I believe David's times are well under a year.

Right now I liken one of David's to getting a Nitti for half the price in half the time…
 
There’s nothing like a new custom but consider finding something you like that is for sale. Have it refinished by Proficient if it needs it. There are a few closet queens around that are mint. Just a thought.

Cody Cash, PK Custom Cues in Wichita. Great work by super nice guy. He's on FB as PK Custom Cues.

He re-finished my Jensen for 200bux and i got it back in about ten days. Came out perfect. Great guy to deal with.

diveney veneered full splices are nice and all but 3k and up that man is making a killing right now spitting out as many as he does
1k easy for a sneaky with a butterfly splice
 
For what it's worth, I would also look at superiorcues.com and recollectioncues.com.

Both tend to maintain a good stock of very nice and desirable cues, from mild to wild representing some of the best builders out there.
