Our non-alcohol poolroom and grill has existed for 27+ years due mainly to our grill and to all our loyal regular F&B customers, most of which have never played pool here.

Hey Chris, I thought you were in the Greensboro area?? The wife has been pestering me to do a trip to see snow and talked me into going to Vail in March, but Boone was mentioned too. She’s gonna be surprised when I suggest we do both.

Is Boone the place they make snow if they don’t have any?

Hey Jennie, There is another couple reasons to go to Boone if your ever here in NC
The Daniel Boone Inn is a must for dinner or lunch. The Christmas parade is quite cool and there are great Christmas tree farms all around town!

I can anchor you on a small rock pile 40 miles out but my family is always surprised I can find my way home. Geographically challenged is an understatement.

But it was actually Beech Mountain where she wanted to go, so I looked it up and that’s about 30 minutes from Boone. I hope it’s not snowing in early January so I can go check out this room, because she’s booking it before I change my mind.

The ski slopes all makes snow starting as soon as possible, but we’ve actually been getting less and less snow every winter. If you keep an eye on our weather forecast, I’m sure you can catch a natural snow up here if you plan it right.

Depending on where you are staying on Beech Mtn, you will be between 20 and 30 minutes from our pool room, which is actually located between Boone and Banner elk. Just remember we are closed on Sundays and we have no alcohol.

Can we brown bag our own?

Chris’s in Chicago allowed folks to bring in their own beer and wine. I know they did not have a license to serve but they might have had some sort of provisional license.

My mom and her sisters liked noting that Charo was a cousin once in awhile. Distant enough to not really be worth mentioning normally and as far as I know nobody in my closer family has ever met her. Few remember the "coochie coochie" girl from the talk shows of the sixties and seventies now and fewer know the lady has been a world class guitarist almost all of her life.

In my experience, the hills of NC ain't like the big city though, so don't expect the Ritz, ya bum.
