Bad start for team USA. Shane makes a picture perfect run out and then dogs an easy nine.
 
Did Shane roll the 9 with high ball? I think normally he would have played it with low outside firm, or middle outside rolled.
 
Wow, can’t believe he missed that 9 ball, other than being a little long that was a pretty straight forward shot. Must have just been a loss of focus. Crazy
 
Well both sides have given a game away.

Shane dogged the 9 but otherwise made some fantastic shots...both FSR and Sky missed balls badly! Welcome to the Mosconi!
 
FSR not handling the new cue well thus far. It was delivered to him a couple days ago by Rassoon he said during the press conference.
 
I think Shane played the shot the way he did (I think it was center top, rolled), to not put spin and have the new cloth squirt the cb more than normal. But shooting that with high top is not that common, compared to spinning it, and maybe that's why he missed.
 
I wonder how many more times Karl will have to explain the rules of a pushout.

Imagine Cris Collinsworth or Al Michaels needing to explain the rules of a fair catch.
