Waste of money pool items

Jim Rempe training ball. Thing was $30 or so, and I used it once when I was a beginner.

Balance Rite extension. Another thing I bought as a beginner thinking it would make me a better player (??)

Tor Lowry's pattern play book. It's a good product, but I'm not the type to lug a book with me to the pool hall and recreate patterns. Maybe I'll get around to using it at some point.

Gear to replace my own tips. Too much hassle. I would rather pay someone $10 to do it once a year or so.

Meh. Maybe they just convinced a lot of people that they changed something. They never showed any real evidence of their claims being true or advantageous.

They are a marketing company.
Whether being advantageous and improving one’s game, I’ll definitely agree with you on that.

Whether they revolutionized shaft construction and squirt characteristics of a stick, well all you have to do is pick one up and play it next to an early 90’s cue.

The dumbest thing I bought was this cue from Europe that had a spring in the forearm area. I forgot what it was called. It was supposed to flex the spring if you used your grip hand to steer the cue. This was about 15 years ago I think.

Also, the stupid bridges you put on your cue. I still end up using the bridge stick pool halls have.
I keep one just because these shitty bars don’t have a bridge most of the time lol but it’s been rarely used.

Digicue is that stupid rubber thing you put on the butt of your cue that vibrated if you had a bad stroke. lol what a waste of time. Tells you nothing. Its great it vibrates but it didn’t tell you why what’s the point 😂

Joint protectors. Two piece cues were just fine for 75 years or so but now you need something to protect the joint? Next thing you know they'll be making a joint protector protector.

I know some will disagree.
Maybe even worse is the tip protectors that cost close to $10 for two of them when you can go to the hardware store and buy two for under a $1.oo. I bought the ones from the hardware but I still never use them.

Apparently it's not all I have to do. The first predator I played with didn't impress me as being functionally different than the low-end Adam I used at the time. I also know that the people I played with at the time who 'upgraded' to predators did not suddenly start playing better.

Jim Rempe Training Cue Ball…….the design pattern is so tight unless you play with a shaft under 12mm you cannot
consistently strike the cue ball where you aim. This pattern does not provide adequate space to strike the cue ball
accurately and consistently with a larger diameter cue shaft. There are better training cue balls than the Rempe CB.
