Archer and Oscar talk it out live today at 3:00 CST

He's been on the team and didn't do much iirc. He can't beat that Wolford kid. Might beat Styer but it would be close.
Oscar would be a solid Mosconi Cup pick, regardless of past MC performance. Anyone who doesn’t think Oscar is among the top 5 US players at this time hasn’t kept up. The question is will he play in enough events to qualify, as he clearly prefers $ matches.

If we are speculating...

Archer is broke and has realized he put all his eggs in the pool playing basket so he's making one last go at it, hoping to cash in some of Matchroom's chips. He's now in the any attention is good attention mode.

I'd guess Oscar agreed to this reluctantly. If this has been over 65 hundred dollars that's really sad on Archer's part.
It's sad that Archer is broke. He's a living legend that was on top of the pool world for 10-15 years. As bad as his current game may be (I hear it's pretty bad), I wouldn't bet against someone that had so much success. Having throwback flashes of brilliance happens in pool.

The Dominguez/Archer match was in Feb. 2021 -- 3 years ago, not 10.
That’s what I thought, and I wasn’t aware if JA has ever settled his debt to date. If nothing else, maybe this podcast can put that question to rest.

Obviously if we're talking making money from YouTube views then there is no money there unless you have thousands and thousands of subscribers. However, I am talking about a Pay-per-view match that is livestreamed at a venue that serves liquor and food. There is money to be made there. Especially for a grudge match like this where the players actually dislike each other. Archer playing rough at TS has nothing to do with a grudge match with money in the middle and everyone has eyes on it. I'd watch that train-wreck. The podcast later today could serve as promotion and hype for the match to be played at a later time. They will need to promote and get people excited for it. Talking smack to each other on a podcast will do that. Much like face-offs or weigh-ins before a UFC match or those celebrity Boxing matches.
Only one person should be putting money in the middle.

Thank You

I think I'd be more likely to watch a podcast called "10 Ways to Make Guacamole Dip" than this one, and for the record, I don't care for guacamole dip.
How do you keep the avocado fresh? Things seem to go brown really quickly.

Pretty boring podcast considering the build up.
It's because they are idiots except Oscar.

They are trying to hype up something from a decade ago. LOL

Do you think there is animosity between these two? They are both in a fraternity of making money in the pool business. Hurting one guy's reputation or fueling the hate is bad for business for them both.

Is there any surprise this is just a civil conversation between two guys. That money isn't much. It is probably long forgotten.

Archer describes the situation as if it was just some normal match. Like no big deal. I lost the match and I just didn't pay him. Period. LOL

I hope the IRS is watching.

All this admitting to high stake gambling but did they pay taxes? That's a lot of money the claim to have won.

Someone will be getting a call. LOL

This should be mandatory listening for all young, wannabe professional pool players. You can literally become one of the greatest US players of all time AND be dead broke -- IF you have questionable character and you are too ignorant to understand how to handle your own finances.

This is very sad. Archer has no way forward.

Basically -- stay in school kids.

I enjoy rest of their shows, think they do a great job. This one missed the mark though.
