My Fargorate progression

How does Kevin Farmer play? Seems to be pretty strong as a 510 and most of his games in Fargo are Salotto matches. I noticed he lost to a 400 rated woman 9-2 and he seems to only play the same few players. Based on his first 3 matches I'd guess he is playing around 580 speed.
I don't know him. He finished 25-32. Money was top 16 I believe.

This is coming up in a couple weeks.

Still some spots available, though I really think it's going to be filled up.

I'll be shocked if there's not close to $10,000 in the calcutta, so there's going to be some people who do very well for a short race barbox tournament…

My Fargo went up 4 points to 544, and from 234 to 277 robustness. I played in an open, $60 entry tournament in Georgia on Jan 3. The fargo updated yesterday. It had top locals from a couple states away. Kim Davenport and Tommy Kennedy were also playing. I introduced myself to Tommy, and told him that I watch his US Open finals with Archer once in a while for a good feeling. He says he does the same. ha ha. I played ok in this event. Won two matches and lost two matches. I was also on the stream table for the first time ever and was super excited. I lost that match but did not embarrass myself. Unfortunately, the whole stream was deleted due to background copyright music claim.

Fitch got first, TK second.

Well they let me play at my listed fargorate in a tournament Friday. Was up 36hrs straight at start of tournament, out plowing for 14hrs before, and half drunk by the end. With all that I shot my worst pool of the year. My stroke kept going off to right. Took 3rd. So I guess The listed is good for my worst pool. Hopefully it will start rising now. I will update whenever Fargo does.

My results from the 599 and under were just updated. Dropped from 544 to 542. I guess this is about where I belong. I thought I'd be around 565. Slightly disappointed.

The 600-610 players I know shoot WAY straighter than me. It’s not close. I don’t think they know any more than me. They just don’t miss the same shots I do.
haha i know this feeling all too well. i always say to myself, “if i could pocket balls i’d be a good player” 🤔
I think this is the common "excuse". No offense because it's mine too. I've always thought differences between levels was found more in cueing/shot making than position play. Maybe it's because the potting differences just jump out at you.

IMO shot-making is a meta-skill, not a first-order skill in and of itself. Consistency in shot-making is a function of your fundamentals, pattern play, and mental game; it's very difficult to miss shots if these three things are working well ;)

lol too bad knowledge doesn’t drop balls or make the Fargo go up
I don't know if this was tongue-in-cheek or not, but I would absolutely argue that knowledge drops balls and raises Fargos 🤣

Shot-making definitely has something to do with fundamentals. A strong mental game may help you stay focused enough to stay near your peak capability, or it may give you enough clarity to know your limitations, which doesn't always help your pocketing. It's almost like blind optimism is better. Lastly and most importantly, pattern play has little to do with whether or not you make the FIRST difficult shot after an early safety exchange. This is where differences between potting skills show up the most drastically.
