My son did this for his break
That's gold right there! My son did this for his break
And some people think the break at nine ball has no issues. My son did this for his break
I think this is the bar box match you are talking about- the rule was you had to break the 2nd ball- no head on breakNothing new between these two. There are numerous videos on line of them bickering. Corey was a beast when Shane was breaking through. They played each other a ton and Corey had his number early on and would let him know it. There is a bar box 8 ball video where Corey just whips Shane and is talking shit. Shane was very young and cocky at that point. He wasn't used to getting his ass handed to him on a bar box playing 8 ball.
Still, shit move and possibly a foul as well.
I guess i'm one of those people. What's the issue? What determines how pool is supposed to be played? And some people think the break at nine ball has no issues.
It's ironic that Corey was using that against Bustamante, who is normally a huge breaker. In the World Championship (about 2005?) I remember Bustamante was using a break at about Corey's speed in the video -- a firm stop shot on the head ball, maybe with a Sardo rack in use. It was quite a remarkable change.
I wonder when the shift happened to Shane being better. By TAR 1 in 2007 he was clearly light years better than Corey. But most of the country, including Corey, Billy, and Grady, didn’t know until the first 10 games were over.Nothing new between these two. There are numerous videos on line of them bickering. That's not the issue. The problem is that tight rack, one on the spot, pattern rack, soft break all together are intensely boring. Perhaps you have never seen that combination in action. It is not possible to market such a farce.... Is the soft break frustrating? ..
I couldn't agree more, boring and bad for pool. That's not the issue. The problem is that tight rack, one on the spot, pattern rack, soft break all together are intensely boring. Perhaps you have never seen that combination in action. It is not possible to market such a farce.
Matchroom is interested in marketing pool. The WPA is interested in having the game not be a farce.
Here's some info and examples....
I think Matchroom's break rules, even with the horribly nebulous "hit'em hard" rule, are working. We'll see if they are completely solved/thwarted by some players in the next year. We've already seem some pretty consistent one balls.... There could have been ...
yeah that was my initial thought too. I'm sure this break isn't "legal" but hey maybe it should be!We like the safety break in one pocket but hate it 9 & 10 ball.
14.1 and snooker have safety breaks too
forced push out would be an absolutely dynamic change to the game and I would tune in for sure. Might even get me to start matching up more playing 9 ball, right now the game bores me.I think Matchroom's break rules, even with the horribly nebulous "hit'em hard" rule, are working. (Or, they could just go to "must push out after the break".)

When was that compared to when they played their race to 100 and SVB smoked him? As I remember Corey telling the story, he didn't know how well SVB played and thought he was stealing when they set that up.Nothing new between these two. A bit strong, but at that level, you should have enuf respect for the other player to not even consider they might give themselves a 'Rack' job. Can't blame him. Id've been upset myself. No reason for that type behavior against an opponent of Shane's caliber. C'mon Corey. Wtf dude??How about this one?
When I listen to thjs video, I’d swear that’s me talking. My faulty memory remembers this tournament. Wondering if it’s actually my video.I couldn't stop laughing at Shane's stare down of Corey! 20 seconds long.

"Experts" is a kind word.the two of them are the most prominent racking experts there are. orcullo coming in third..
