He's been playing in a tourney at Emerald Biliardsthis weekend. He did just OK in the one-ball one pocket. Lost in the 2nd round to Fedor. He just finished his run in the main one pocket event tonight (Friday). Finished 5-6. He played pretty well, lost in the 4th round on the winner's side to Billy [3-2], and then to Roberto [3-2]. The matches are on replay through PoolActionTV.
[edit: oh yeah, he also won the challenge match against Alex on Monday, although he was getting 9-8.]

I went to a poolroom in Hawaii and was having a enjoyable time until a asshat started woofing. Tony sounded like a idiot.
Sounds like SVB wasn't a huge fan of being woofed at. People were talking about it on Facebook but missing the obvious point. SVB's hearing issues probably make this old pool room tradition an annoyance for him.

Ii See nothing wrong with calling a guy out to play. I’m sure Shane is use to it and probably knows he could even be the favorite
Sounds like a day in the life of guys matching up at any old action pool room across the South. I've been woofed at like that to play for $100. I actually kind of miss that.
Three of the best woofers I can remember off the top of my head were: Jimmy King, Bobby Pickle and Atlanta Danny. some of the shit Jimmy King would say was actually frightening. I witnessed him dress down JJ to play to the point where it was hard to listen too. Talking all that nonsense about patching an eye, but everyone knew he had a glass eye.
I actually enjoy this stuff. Sorry if it's offensive to others.

You sure about that? You sure Shane could make out everything Tony was saying? There really are a lot of noises in the typical pool room. Probably best to save the woofing theatrics for others.

I realize Alex is amazing but I still feel like he shouldn't be giving up weight to a one pocket specialist.
There is something to be said for consistency and position accuracy.

Alex is a 1p specialist himself. Plus one of the most well rounded players on all games.
Giving up one ball doesn't mean that much at that level imo.
Nothing compared to listening to guys in the NFL mic'd up.
