T-Rex updates

The trick to being a good woofer is entice your prospective opponent to get in action with humor, and then after you reel them in, ensure they have fun along the way. It is not ridicule them to the point of embarrassment. Woofing is, indeed, an art form.

There you go. Ronnie was one of the sharpest game makers of all time. He would find a game you liked where you thought you had the nuts, and then proceed to wear you down at it. Keith learned from Ronnie, his pool mentor. Keith gave up weight to the world and still ran over everybody.

The smoothest game maker of all time was Billy Incardona. He would have a nice conversation with you for as long as it took, before finally saying okay let’s play. Then you were toast!

It is one thing to woof someone in a poolroom, but to do it via facebook live is just being an asshole.

I consider this "nit" behavior, the opposite side of the exact same coin.
I'll venture you didn't spend much time around 'NY Pancho.' He heated up people to the point their neck veins could explode.
But then along the same line, he would take off the entire PR with plenty of prop bets and he played well enough to beat most cities better players.
Pancho was funny though. He kept everybody laughing while he was ribbing you. He played good but he ducked guys like Jimmy Reid and Bob Osborne. I saw Jimmy bark at him and offer him the eight ball. Pancho got quiet fast.

Tony did say he'd shut up if they played and if he said anything during the match it would be a forfeit.

So why won't SVB play him?

Maybe Shane just isn't in the mood.

Anyways this behavior of chohan going live on FB is exactly what pool needs to make money. Boxing and UFC do the same thing to make money and use damn crowd brawls in their ads 😂
I disagree

Who would back Tony for that kind of money against Shane? I wouldn't. Are Tony and Shane pretty good friends? If I didn't know better, I would say they are looking for someone to back Shane so they could carve it up.
Wrong!

I'm not sure who thinks Chohan is currently the best 1P player world, but they might want to look up the results of the last time he played Gorst. I believe Gorst won 21-9 and made it look easy. Most of those games weren't even close. You'd go broke betting against that kid playing anyone but Filler...that's a coin flip.
Doesn't quite fit to my picture of Shane in the first days of The Action Report.

It was almost exclusively Shane matching up with all the great players one after another (Reyes, Deuel, Alex, Dechaine, Orcollo, Strickland) until he undoubtedly was the best player in the world in 10-Ball.

Doesn't quite fit into the Souquet-like picture of "I don't like to gamble"
Those days are long over for Shane. He’s got some real money now!

Maybe, but Earl Strickland is still relevant and it's not just because of his game.
Is he relevant? Maybe, but in a negative way. I don't think Earl's antics are any benefit to pro pool at this point in time. What is important is the continued (and now rapid) growth of the game on a professional level. I say highlight the new young breed of players, who come from all across the globe. Show the world that Pool is truly a Worldwide sport today, populated by great players from all the continents. Okay, maybe not Antartica :)

Part of the pool room allure has always been the dark humor of despair. Hey, it's fascinating, what can I say? A lovey and engaging game with copious accompanying human tragedy. Hey, like Garth Brooks, I've got friends in low places, lol.

pool needs to have its fame and tournaments a separate thing from the pool room antics.
all sports do that in some way. with the professional and tournament side totally distanced from the gambling and controversies.

Sounds like a day in the life of guys matching up at any old action pool room across the South. I've been woofed at like that to play for $100. I actually kind of miss that.

Three of the best woofers I can remember off the top of my head were: Jimmy King, Bobby Pickle and Atlanta Danny. some of the shit Jimmy King would say was actually frightening. I witnessed him dress down JJ to play to the point where it was hard to listen too. Talking all that nonsense about patching an eye, but everyone knew he had a glass eye.

I actually enjoy this stuff. Sorry if it's offensive to others.
Jimmy King was playing a friend of mine named Pat Fox in Lake Charles many years ago. Pat beat him, and after awhile looked at the board and Jimmy had turned himself in as the winner. Leonard Bloodworth was running the tournament and wouldn't do anything about it.
