So Skyler got drug tested immediately after losing to Oi???

Not sure if you are saying dudes sky high can or can't play perfect pool for a loooooong time...but they can.
What I'm saying is they CAN play great pool for a long time. But they played great pool to begin with sober or otherwise. I don't think any drug makes you see better, more coordinated, and magically better than normal. It could make one last longer for a marathon session, depending on what was taken.
Plenty of wasted to be had without the negative physical consequences you referenced.
It depends what they got wasted on. Booze has more of a physical effect than pills, powder, or smoke for coordination breakdown. Although I've seen some blasted ass drunks waver around the table for hours and pull it off.
I think you're reading something into my post that's not what I was meaning. Facts are, I haven't been a choir boy myself in the younger years when it involved certain liquids, pills, and powder. No more though. It was all for self-study on a thesis I never wrote. o_O😈🥴

We are on the same page...and I thougt we were.

And no matter how well one plays on whatever he's on, it isn't sustainable...for all the kids out there.

I absolutely believe this would help your pool game.

One time in college towards the end of the semester, I had several papers due along with needing to study for finals. I had one day to accomplish a real lot of work. I bought what's commonly known on college campuses as a "study buddy". Cost me ten bucks for one pill. These drugs, taken by people that don't need them, provides what's called "hyper concentration".

I can tell you they work. I went into the library at around 9am. The next thing I knew it was 11pm and they were turning off the lights. Seriously, I don't even know where all those hours went. I finished all my papers, read all my assignments, and studied well enough to pass all my exams. It was a weird, indescribable feeling to be able to bear down and concentrate like that. I'm thinking that would HAVE to help playing pool.
Absolutely. Drugs in this class are prescribed for disorders such as ADD and ADHD, which are debilitating without medication. Amphetamines help people like this to focus and allow them to finish things they start, rather than blindly running all over the place getting a thousand things started yet finishing none.
For persons without this chem imbalance or whatever causes it, taking these stimulants would indeed give you hyper focus, euphoric effects and allow you to do physical activities much longer than normal. Side effects can be dangerous tho, elevated blood pressure, QT prolongation, heart murmur, irregular beat, etc ...
Wouldn't recommend taking them unless you have said disorders to start with. Risk of adverse effects is high.
Medications like this are commonly abused.

There is at least one or two academic people on the forum.

I bet with 100% certainty pool players can design a bar experiment to show that regardless of which drug taken, it does not improve your ability to pocket a shot.

If a pro locks you down with a safe, take as many drugs or healing medicines as you need, you still lose the set.

If we all do this experiment, then submit an evidence based report, politically its a boondoggle.
Obviously you have never observed the difference in a player's game when they are on adderall. Or known you were observing it.

Makes you wonder what the primary drivers for Matchroom to not sanction are. My guess is three things but I could be wrong.

1. Money (sanction fees and such)
2. Political bans that doesn’t help the MR product
3. Hassle of WADA anti-doping vs. doing their own

I wonder if #3 might be more than a trivial factor.
My guess is none of the above.

I don't think it goes beyond the WPA not being willing to recognize the MR rankings as the "offical" world rankings of 9 ball.

I college I stayed up all night studying for my piss test by drinking as much beer as I could. Problem was the next morning I kept missing the piss cup.

I know that was the public message initially but my gut says that was a pretense. Certainly part of it. But I think it’s deeper than that.

Justdumb shouldn't comment on issues he knows nothing about.
I was a road player, not a tourney kind of guy. If you've ever played a set of 9 ball or pick your poison for 12, or even 16 hours straight, it's damn near impossible to do that without chem assistance. Most matches the other player was doing some type of amphetamine, as was I.
Only way to maintain focus and increase hand/eye coordination over that long a period of time, not to mention just being able to stay on your feet for that long. Go ahead and try it sober if you wanna lose your ass to the other guy who ain't.
We always avoided booze and downers that slow your roll, they affect your hand eye in a negative way, for the most part. I always went up to sharpen my game. It's a shame to cheat like that, but I was paying the rent, not trying to impress a bunch of purists.

It's basically meth amphetamine.

Nazis used meth in WWII
Fearless fighting and superhuman endurance. It eventually made those soldiers weaker as the drug deteriorated their bodies.
Same thing that happens to all meth heads.

Oh I don't doubt for a moment there was/is more to it, beyond "official ranking". I just don't think your list captures the real problem(s). Drug testing is only an issue for those with either drug problems, or a few that don't have a sharper pitch fork to carry. Political drama is extremely rare, and if sanctioning money was a problem then MR would have not at any point played ball.

That said, with the calendar now being rather full of MR events. The sanctioning fees would have been quite notable if applicable.

It is true.

That fool thinks thoughts can shoot a ball in the hole.
He isn't the only one. There are other geniuses in here that think the same way about thoughts (feel/intuition) being the primary determinant to line up two balls and shoot one into the hole. Those thoughts just talk to those who are willing to listen. Maybe it's a dominant female gene for the feel/intuition. I don't know.

what i do know about all the pros from the past that used whatever stimulant to help their game it did give the spurts until it started wearing down then they blew all their winnings back. you cant tell exactly how high you are from it while playing. but it works for awhile.

oh, by the way all those guys died young and broke. the list is long. care to join them.

Lol.

I do enjoy the execution element!
