My last hunting dog tangled with a porcupine once and didn't learn a thing from it so that ended out hunting partnership it wasn't worth the risk of a big bill from a veterinarian clinic
Shouldn't be any vet bill. You can just pull them yourself. I helped my dad pull them lots of times when I was a kid in the 1960s, and then did it a few times myself when I was in my teens. We raised black labs in northern Wisconsin, and there was a plentiful porky population around there then.

Chris , normally I'd agree completely with you on the vet bill for quill removal but Rooster was a English pointer lab cross and didn't do anything part way and had quills in places that I wasn't sure I'd be able to remove them safely this was a first time for me .
He was the replacement for a black lab that I lost to a heart attack of all things .

First of all, the kid would probably be blind and bleeding at least somewhere. At minimum his body would be in shock with that many quits and red and swelling. They wouldn't have followed his hairline like that either.

The sad part is, I should know better than most on this. I work with photoshop almost everyday and know what AI can do. We digest so much information these days and we are programmed to believe what our eyes tell us. We don't stop and think, and I didn't here. We just accept it all as real. I have to admit, I'm a little embarrassed for not questioning it. Lesson learned (again)!

Well Jason for what it's worth I should've known better also but when with humor so to speak and thought it was funny ok I've got a sick sense of humor at times ,

Cactus splines were my arch enemy still is during antelope hunting season getting them stuck in my knees and legs during final stocks on them or my side even .
The tweezers on Swiss army knives are a God send in this instance .
