I know what that feels like , for me it's the curse of being a red head ha ha which for some means we can get a flash burn by just opening the refrigerator door to quickly when the kitchen is dark ha ha

My last hunting dog tangled with a porcupine once and didn't learn a thing from it so that ended out hunting partnership it wasn't worth the risk of a big bill from a veterinarian clinic

Shouldn't be any vet bill. You can just pull them yourself. I helped my dad pull them lots of times when I was a kid in the 1960s, and then did it a few times myself when I was in my teens. We raised black labs in northern Wisconsin, and there was a plentiful porky population around there then.
