definitely Snooker, I love the strategic play, like needing hooks to win and the offensive or defensive game play associated. you often get to try to put each other in difficult hooked or hard to make positions and that's just a lot of fun. throwing a good hook upon a buddy who is an experienced opponent is a fun feeling , you can still make them struggle. That's different from sharking someone by trying to interfere, because it is part of the game. big tables with small pockets really challenge accuracy.
also like games relating to carom shots, they help develop some different skills. I'm not the best of the bunch but enjoy it even if I'm loosing more often than winning, , It just means I'm being challenged. One on one is fine but playing partners is probably more fun due to the resulting discussions, partners can help each other which helps transfer knowledge and skills.
I'll still play other games like 8 or 9 ball, but snooker is my favorite. 9 ball is a faster game, snooker is a real thinking game and generally a bit less rushed. of course any game requires some thought and strategy., the more experienced you are the more strategy is involved. lets not discount all that,
I can win at 9 ball even with a much better player, and I might win at 8 ball, so its a lot about averages. Winning with intermediate skills against an experienced snooker player is not easy at all.
There are a lot of older snooker players , a bit more quiet, patient and mature, but that's a big generalization for sure. There are a lot less 12' tables due to the price of space and rent. Ive never played a pool game I that I didn't enjoy. I think the reason there are less snooker players about, is because there are less tables.
technically snooker isn't pool sure, and if you want to go into defining what pool is , go ahead.
