why do you care?? writing a book?
Trying to understand your comment. Never mind, I can live without.

i get sick of groups, any groups, that single themselves out and force others to go along with their views/beliefs/actions. Do your thing but don't constantly bombard others with your views/opinions or get all butthurt when someone disagrees with you.
Straight couples flaunt their relationships constantly, all around us, presumably trying to "force others to go along with their views/beliefs/actions". What's the difference?

I know that you are from that Gay Mecca Corpus.

Please, oh wise one, teach us so we can understand.

Are you sure you're not a Spartan?
You’ve openly bragged about disowning a family member for coming out.

I have no faith that you would ever understand.

The irony in your post is astonishing because, there should be no difference yet, there is.

Ok, maybe I wasn't done yet.

They used to do this at my church all the time, same group of people doing fundraising, they just change the name for promo purposes.

How about a Women for Change Pool Tournament?

Domestic Violence against women is at an all time high.

Parts of eastern Europe and locations receiving huge immigrant populations are in need of social and counseling services.

The same group that mixes with them can have criminal backgrounds. Pool Halls are great places for anyone.

If they were training centers, then SNAP or social services might pay the bills.

I think i said 'any groups' didn't i?? I could not care less how someone chooses to live just don't bombard others to accept/believe/go-along with your choices. Pretty sure i already said all this. Why the hell do you care anyway?

Steven Wright-style query: If you advertise a 'straight pool tournament' will you be embraced or hammered??? Random thoughts from a random guy...... To be honest i'm so sick of anything even remotely smelling of 'woke' i could puke. Live your life/lifestyle, just don't constantly ram it down other's throats.
Mort Sahl, who some may pleasantly recall as a 1970s-era very acute, sometimes acerbic social commentator, humorously had this to say about one of a few overly-evangelized lifestyles (steaks vs vegan, gay vs straight, rationalist vs believer, etc.):

For years it was "The love that dares not speak its name" . . . but now it's the love that won't shut up !!! 😴

Arnaldo ~ We largely do get along very well. IMO tolerance is baked into the beautiful Emma Lazarus poem beneath the Statue of Liberty:
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Mort was great.

We are great. None are perfect. All works in progress. This includes every group. Tolerance is the only prospect for success, but it is damn difficult to tolerate anything being shoved down your throat. Problem is that there are some very ignorant sobs at either end of spectrum that believe the hand of god has blessed them with overriding right to tell everyone else what to do. God needs to move all of them to same island and get them away from the rest of us.

So you’re saying straight people should also stop making their relationships obvious?

What's fair is fair, right? How about everyone stop holding hands and everyone can wear the same clothes, have the same haircut or, how about we just let people do what they want with their life.

I'm a Lay's potato chip guy, you don't see me bitching when I see an ad for Pringles.

Why would straight people be expected to do that? I don't think most people have a problem with alternative lifestyles, its the people with penises competing in women's sports and men being allowed in a women's bathroom, especially when there are children involved, that most people are having problems with. Try to be relevant, alternative lifestyles are nothing new.

As I said before in this connection, every time I address this subject it is with trepidation for fear of offending. But . . .

This is one of the problems from some perspectives -- folks are not pc enough. Give us a break. Not pointing fingers at anyone, but "gay" is the nicest term many have ever employed. "LGB . . ." is too confusing and changes too often for many. "Pride" or "Proud" might be better, but I see inherent issues. Labels do matter but are far less important than attitudes.

I caught the "kiddie" remark but figured it referenced the tables and hoped it was not a shot at the participants. In my book, Measureman got the benefit of doubt -- a lot of us prefer 9 footers. I hope we argue about table size for a long time, but the rest of it needs to be abandoned and filed under "live and let live".

Rodney King may have said it best, "Can't we all just get along?"

And, maybe the Colorado tourney benefited from the AZB exposure. Next time there is an Idaho event, post here.
Measureman never made a "kiddie remark", with or without quotes.

advertising for and hosting a gay tournament is not the same thing as shoving their lifestyle at you.

you can’t complain about people telling you how to live or what to believe while simultaneously telling others how to live and what to believe.

give it a rest fellas. its a pool tourny. Its over. i think we can all relax on this one.

No, Measureman said "adult" which Chili flipped to "kiddie". Adult/kiddie: two sides of the same coin. I would hope that everyone understood what all three of us meant. But what is your point? If anyone has an issue with my choice of words, it would have to be Measureman. I suspect he is perfectly capable of advancing his own grievance, but just in case, in light of the respect and deference I hold for him, let me offer in advance -- "Measureman, I am really sorry for my choice of words and had no intent to malign or offend you."

Now. Everyone who needs to should back it down a couple of notches. Our purpose should be to create and move toward common ground, not to destroy it and move from it.

An old judge around here used to say, when it really got down and dirty in the proceedings before him, "Gentlemen, we need much less heat, and a lot more light."

There's much to be said for illumination.

Nice try at redirection, if you're not an adult what are you? It's clear from his posts he did not support this tournament, which is fine by me, but why come here and start a thread about? And if you do, you should expect some push back. I like measureman but I will not apologize for that statement. I've already apologized for a statement I made that shouldn't have been made, see anyone else doing that?
