GC5 Tournament Edition pocket sizes

Tight pockets or not that is still a beautiful table!!! Congrats.
It is a beauty. Bought it from to a Mosconi Cup MVP which is why I think it's the real one.

Measured all 4 corner pockets and they seem to all be around 4.6 inches, perhaps worn out jaw makes it a hair bigger.

Put the balls back up with the equators set to the points and snap a pic. If your balls are pool balls (2.25" in diameter), they should fit snug between the points (2.25" x 2 = 4.5").

Sure looks like 4.5" with that ruler. Strange 'cause those earlier pics sure looked a lot bigger. Standard GC6 pockets are 5-5.2"

The miters don't look correct and the points on the cushions appear slightly rounded, maybe from age? This is pic of mine, pocket size is a little smaller, 4 3/8" or 4 1/4", I don't know that I have ever put a ruler on it but it looks like a massive miter difference (which there will be a little difference if the miters are correct for pocket size) but the points on mine are much more defined for some reason too.

Looks much closer to GC5 TE than standard GC5 but very much on the large side, maybe too much.

Can anyone give me any pointers how a Brunswick naked rail pocket look? I remember this table came with a little bit of fitting inside the pockets which I'm not sure if it's by default or am I really dealing with standard GC5 rails that someone put some fittings on.

Agree with previous posters on the edges, they're quite rounded and probably make the table a little easier too since there's very little sharpness in that jaw.

(I had it shipped and delivered with old cloth on since I wanted to make sure rails are bumpy enough and with new cloth it's often hard to figure out)

If it was 4.5" the balls would be frozen and touching the points at their equators. This is at least 4.75. Those balls are not going to freeze until well inside the jaws.

The facings weren’t done correctly, or they have compressed and become misshapened over time. A good table mechanic could make those pockets play correctly. Preferably while installing new cloth.

balls need to be frozen and parallel to a line across the points to measure, not angled like this. if they freeze on the points at the equator its 4.5"

Very nice table but unfortunately the pocket sizes are ones you find at an arcade.

Replace the rails and get it smaller or do it when its time to change.

We're fortunate to have Ernesto come and do tables. If he is in town you can request him to do your table at home too.

I love Ernesto's work, played on some of his tables in LA. Unfortunately this is on the other side of the planet.
where you at? it sure looks like whoever covered those rails squashed in the points. if you put two balls in the pocket at what point do they freeze the facings? how far in? pic of that?
