US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

those pinoy players are like cryptonite to earl's antics. marvin didn't GAF.

but yea in all 3 matches earl's attack play was really, really impressive. breaking + jump cue obsession + tinkering with his gadgets was his downfall. his first match vs delawder is on MR youtube
Was the Pijus Labutis match televised? I haven’t watched that one yet but I’d like to.

There’s something about Earl’s style that is must-watch TV for me. Does he actually play/move differently than other players or is that just something I’ve made up in my head? I’ve never been able to articulate why he’s so enjoyable, but he just is.

His stroke is one of the best of all time, and he is fearless. But he walks around like a chicken in the yard. And sounds like one.

He's quicker and more free-wheeling than just about any top player, with a beautiful and smooth stroke.

There's almost no visible calculation to what he does, just pure experience and talent.

Filler's game has gone downhill since he started using the Revo.

He needs to go back to the Z3.
Filler came up on what I call young gun syndrome. When you're young enough that you think you can't lose. When the realization hits that you don't have to win, it can psychologically damaging. Some never fully recover. We'll have to wait and see if Filler does. His attitude does seem to have mellowed some, which is a good sign.

I assumed that was something with the lighting. Is the cloth actually wavy? I can't believe that. The balls don't seem to roll funny.
Not sure what causes that, I've heard it was the rail cloth being too tight. Same with my table, which was done by Diamond.

Even if it does not affect the play, it looks bad.

what does this even mean?? what exactly are you saying here? the reason the field was not full is because MR fk'd up running the qualifiers.
In your comment you compared the number of byes at the US Open to if the US Open tennis had 20 byes. In my opinion you are comparing apples to oranges. Tennis is filling a field of 128 players. Matchroom can easily field that with just the touring pro's. Matchroom though is trying to field a tournament with 256 players. If they want to take away the Open part of the tournament and just make a pro tournament they wouldn't have so many byes. Can you imagine if the tennis US Open let in amateurs equal to a 400 fargo? Nobody would watch the first rounds at all. This year's MR US Open had much better competition in the first rounds. I believe they will get it fixed and more pool rooms will hold more qualifiers and the competition at the event will be great all week long.

Oscar takes famous win over FSR 10-3

The Viking is fearless ties match 8-8 with nice B&R.
Albin trailing 3-6
Big names are falling like flies:ROFLMAO:

whatever dude. the reason for the byes was inept running of qualifiers. they should have just opened up to anybody if nothing else for optics. i don't like dead-money players but having open spots looks worse.
