I can say that we haven't done our national 8 ball tourney yet. Top two made it in last year.

They're having trouble filling a 64 man field. That will tell you something. At least 15 to 20 players listed are lucky to have a .700 Fargo.

I think it would be really neat if the US could follow Canada's lead, but we are incapable of organizing a national championship. Maybe in a few years. I think the last US national championship for men's pool was in the 1950s or so.

Don't give us too much credit. The "national" tourney is usually 90% locals and I can't recall it ever being outside of Ontario.

14 more players added so now 64 players field filled
New additions include Joshua Filler, Carlo Biado, Albin Ouschan, Alex Kazakis, Daniel Maciol
Thought Filler boycotted and Biado is banned

Well OK...

But there are 10 provinces, and yours has more people than the bottom 8 combined.

.... Thought Filler boycotted and Biado is banned ...
As far as Biado is concerned, if that is an ACBS ban and not a WPA ban, it's not clear that it would apply to a World Championship, especially since the event is not in Asia.

But I think it will be interesting to see who actually plays.

Would be pretty embarrassing for Matchroom if Filler and Ouschan play in this.
It would be embarrassing for themselves as well. I believe they were both part of the contingent that posted on social media about skipping WPA events until the ban issue was put to sleep. I’ll hold off on making a judgement until we actually see if they show up, but doing so would certainly not be good for their image or credibility.
