Why is Predator so easily get dents

So then a minor dents are common for used items as well ? Because it is virtually impossible to not slightly be hitting tables or chairs while focusing onto your shots and walking around

It is not virtually impossible...just need to have some spatial awareness and be careful.

I see it all the time at league, some people just don't care or have the spatial awareness and bang their cue into the table or chairs all the time. I almost never hit my cue into the table...I would guess maybe 1-2 small taps in the last year, none of which resulted in a ding. More likely to end up hitting the cue of another player at the next table who moved behind me without me knowing. Just doesn't happen to me because I take care around the table and always have awareness of where my cue is in relation to tables and chairs.

All of my cuestick from predator can easily get dent if I accidently hit the table side or corner just slightly. ...
Which part of the cue is getting the dents? Above or below the joint? Or both? If the shaft, where on the shaft?

It is probably my things, but if I diverted my attentions and focuses onto people passing behind me or looking around the tables to take care of my cues, I have a higher chance of missing the shot and or misplacing the cue ball or both

That is why when I play at bars, I usually watch out for the other person who may come into my line of shot and it spaces first before I focused onto my own. Once I focused onto it, I can't be diverted to others

Their shafts ding super easy too. That's what you get when you build stuff out of scraps.

actually when i compared the 314-3 to my pre-cat 314, the conclusion was the wood was of poorer quality. got a dent from nowhere. it even had a knot, which is almost a feat when you laminate 10 splices.. i sold it.

That is the low spatial awareness he was talking about.

You can do it!

Thag is exactly what I am feeling. For some reasons, the woods from predators are not as hard as lucasi. It get dings easily

To me...dontcha fhink you should be more concerned with the fact you can compare experiences from multiple makers, than the construction details of cue brands?

You can really only influence one of those things.

Its bound to happen at some point. I am really careful, but everyone makes mistakes, some more than others. Some people dont care about their equipment or anyone elses. One of the worst sounds ever to me a cue hitting the floor from being knocked over.

And some woods will dent easier. I have a satin finish cue i love, but shows every scuff, dent. Just brushing something seems to leave a mark. Then i have the other extreme where a cue just dosnt seem to get marks unless there is some power behind it. Just the way it is. The first few scuffs dents are always the most difficult.

In any event, it is EASY to fix minor dents::

a) find the dent and place shaft so that dent is at the top
b) get a small cotton ball on a stick and dab it in water such that it is wet but not dripping.
c) place cotton on dent
d) wait 15 minutes for wood to swell then blot off any water
repeats (a..d) for each dent
e) allow to dry for 1 hour
f) take a shot glass and rub over dent to press the raised wood back down to the level of the rest of the wood.
