International Open 9-Ball 2024, St. Augustine, FL, Nov. 18-22

He wasn’t a 600 even though the bracket showed him as such. It’s another digital pool glitch. Most of the ratings displayed are off a small amount, while some are off a mile. He’s a 507 with 135 robustness, which corresponds with the patterns he played.
Makes sense. A cpl ball in hand self-safes were def head scratchers. Even 507 seems high...but to be fair, conditions were tough and trny nerves have made fools of us all at one point or another.

I lost 7-3 to a strong player. 640 something. He ran out a bunch. I’m out. The wind up was he’s the husband of the lady I beat in the first round. All 3 of us had a laugh afterwards. I made some nice shots and had him tied 3-3, but couldn’t get all the way out when I had my chances later.

3 of my buddies are still in. 2 have a buyback. One is hithardanddraw from the forum.

I watched all different levels of players this week. From 300’s in the minis to 800’s and everything in between. Side by side. The thing that struck out at me is as the ratings went up, the control of the body increased noticeably. There was less and less wiggle of the stance, ass, torso, head. The stroke went back and forth on the same path. There was no adjustment once down. Etc. the higher the skill, the more these differences stood out.

Sorry not sorry, there is an athleticism gene that separates the field.

Digital pool guy needs to fix his countless bugs before adding new features. Glitch after glitch. More thought goes into the bugs than the shooting, as the player. I won 7-3 just now. My score was messed up the whole time. Advance to the 4th rnd. Buyback used up.
Maybe if they charge $160 the glitches will double.
Funny/sad how we have to sit through ads for "Let's Get Streaming" which appears to be an illegal pirate streaming service.
But hey, no problem, give that guy your banking information.

Sketchy ass spammy crap.

Genes may put a cap on athletic peak and def affect how steep one's learning curve is, but the reduced amount of body movement u see as u go up the ranks has much more to do with developed skill and time spent refining technique than inate ability.

Yes some people have an intuitive understanding of how to use their arms in a repeatable way with effortless power. Others need training. But there isnt an able-bodied human on the planet that cant learn to perform a simple move like a pool stroke.
The only difference is that the natural talents could figure it out all on their own while the less talented need a helping hand getting there.

Epic game between Corteza and Capito just ended to make it 9-9. Maybe a 15-20 minute safety battle?

I’m sure TVmike will follow only the highest of military-grade security protocols after you give him your credit card number ;)

I'd call bs on that. There are a lot of people who have been 2s, 3s, or 4s, in APA for 20 years - no chance they're ever developing anything remotely close to a "pool stroke".

I stand by my statement. Anyone can learn a functional pool stroke...we not talking Earl level here. Just may take more than their sl6/7 captain's second hand tips to bring it out of them.

10s of millions have no repeatable stroke after 20 + years of playing
