Mosconi Cup 2024, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, Orlando

Too many people here -- who should know better -- are being sucked into debating the trolls and touts that show up every MC.

Before you engage, just take a look at the name/avatar and proceed accordingly.

I enjoy watching them play and glad it’s close on day 2. But I’m not a fan of this short race format and over the top crowd. This exhibition being portrayed as a sport is not aging well.

It's crazy how advanced safety play has gotten. The US actually did decent in that department, but like usual, our best players didn't carry their own weight, let alone lift the team.
Mosconi is great for learning safety play. It's half the reason I watch it. Their touch is good.

Fedor has got that SVB-effect. Dominate everyone during the year then get dominated at the Mosconi Cup. Rinse and repeat. Can't believe I'm saying they are the 2 weakest links in a team that consists of Thorpe and Styer (both below 800 FR)

I hope they both show their true form tomorrow. For the Cup's sake.

I think a better inclusion would've been Oscar Dominguez over Styer or Thorpe. Both Oscar and Mickey Krause are at 786 FR, while the rest of team USA and Europe are all over 800. Would've been a more even match on paper.

That’s a bit harsh. Tyler saved us today and yesterday, won his singles and the doubles. Without that we were sunk almost
Btw. Really bizarre I said “we”. I’m British 😄 but this is actually the only sport I have ever watched that I want team USA to win. Probably because I live over the pond now and like the USA players better

Yeah it got Fedor. He hadn't hit a ball as bad as the 8 in 10 years.

Kaci doesn't do well in team play either. Guy has a set way to do things and overthinking screws him up. Thought he'd dog that last 8.

Any the Euros are prancing around to techno music as day 2 draws to a close.
It was BS. The guy wanted to do the bank which was the better shot and Woodward goes and tells him he can't make it and then Fedor goes and blasts that awful long cut instead. Who is he to tell Fedor he can't make a shot. LMFAO

Oscar and Billy are really a coinflip for the last spot. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Shane always struggles at the MC, but he'll continue to make the team based on the criteria. Only way he doesn't play would be voluntary on his behalf.

Fedor is struggling right now, but he's at worst, the 2nd most talented player on the team.

Sky and Tyler are both solid picks.

US still has a chance, but that's primarily due to playing against Europe's B team

Filler
Shaw
FSR
Zielinski
Ouschan/He/Alcaide/Niels

The score would be lopsided if that's the team we were playing.

Woodward screwed up even more after Alcaide dogged the 6 in game 8. when he undershot the 6 and left Gorst in the worst possible position on the 7, making it extremely hard to get above the 8. If Sky had hit the 6 just a hair bit harder, getting from the 7 to the 8 would've been a cinch.

Oh, well. As Jack Webb used to say, "In America, there's always a tomorrow". 🇺🇸

Players tend to not play enough corner shape……you never get a bad angle…perhaps the tighter pockets are making them think snookerish.

the mosconi cup favors
a certain type of person
and a certain type of play

you shouldn’t choose players
by wins or accomplishments
or fargo rating or $$$

(in my opinion)

i do like making the captain
a player on the team

(k boyes seemed useless
at the reyes cup)
