Birmingham,Ala. They have their own in-house rating deal. Have 2-3/yr. Big Tyme on the Road Show is the FB page. Iron City Billiards is the spot.
Notice this event is not capped and does not exclude anyone. Legit pros enter it.
They have to give up the nuts in most matches. A kid on the low side won it all. When they get down to certain number both brackets combine so a low side'r can snap it off. They have 4-5 more scheduled. Its on BigTyme's FB page.

I think this is the event a local cat here won somewhat recently. He won real real big cheddar. Might be a fun road trip.
Not sure that Payne was on the low side, but IIRC he went for 6k in the calcutta and Riley Adkins (Dee's son) went for 16k.
Yes $140k is a huge lick, but factor in all the times players played in them and didn't cash, but still had that huge nut to fade.
Riley was a 6 and Payne was a 7 or the other way around. Open bid was Riley for $16k

i looked at on-line brackets and i'm pretty sure the winner was on low side. tanner f. was a low side'r.
Once the calcutta gets this high -- what's really going on? How many players are really forking over the cash for their half? Sounds like a really fun tourney, and a great way to lose a lot of money if you get caught up in the hype. I bet this is a blast for the dozen or so guys throwing around all the dough.

When the calc gets real big not that many players are buying themselves. they may try to offer the buyer 1/2 or a 1/4. most buyers will jelly-up the player pretty good even if they don't buy part of themselves.
I haven't seen him in quite a while, he may be in Colorado.
Lucky them. He's a piece of work.
