Ebony Cue

Joe Gold loves his ebony cues. An interesting point his forearms are solid ebony not cored.

He developed his G-10 pin specifically to keep his cues balanced correctly. The G-10 pin is lighter than metal pins. He’s a player and builds cues for players. Great guy as well..

I’m good friends with Joe. Used to shoot straight pool on ‘his’ table at Marie’s Golden Cue. I owned the first 59” cue he ever made, the three shafts were made for it by his good friend Joel Hercek.

Sold it to Buddy at Chris’s a while before he passed. RIP to Buddy he was good people.

Thnx for the offer but I’m not looking for any cues at this time.

Good luck with your sale Joe builds great cues. I have witnessed him trashing nearly completed cues because something was not exactly as he liked.

Great guy, great cue maker, solid person all around and former painting contractor. Most do not know about the latter!

I have to thank you for sharing this story, I was moved by these anecdotes you described, fascinating stories of a real billiards.

Since I was a boy I have loved his mastery, and my desire still today, and to be able to see his studio to be able to document it with an author's photo shoot, and obviously to be able to meet him in person.

and be careful about buying a cue from someone who just joined two weeks ago. take your chances.

Ques of dark ebony with white inlays are often referred to as "Tuxedo Cues". You might want to add this to your search text.
Mike Sigel for example hat such a cue in his cue line for some time. Paul Drexler does them as well.
 
ebony cues are hard to get down to most players preferred weight. but make super good cues.
it is about the only wood that wont float in water. the ebony you get with white streaks in it is inferior and cheaper.

yep that will be a great cue and more than increase in value. and you will get it in about promised time frame, and be happy with it.

Joe builds one of best playing cues on the market! just because cue hits solid dont mean cue plays good,cogs are the exception they play fantastic! Nasa engineered to!
